About me and my therapy practice

I work in a calm, focused and collaborative way, specialising in trauma, anxiety and the impact of overwhelming experiences. EMDR is at the heart of my approach. It helps resolve stuck memories, triggers and long-standing symptoms without needing to retell your story in detail.

Alongside EMDR, I draw on integrative counselling, relational work and practical grounding strategies so you feel supported both emotionally and physically throughout the process. Clients often come to me because something hasn’t shifted, patterns keep repeating or they simply don’t feel like themselves.

We work at your pace, with clarity and safety. My aim is to help you understand what’s happening inside, reduce distress, and move towards a life that feels calmer, lighter and more in your control — whether we’re doing focused EMDR work or a blended approach that supports you before, during and after processing.

Practice description

In my practice, I offer a clear and reliable therapeutic process designed to help you work through the experiences and symptoms that are affecting your quality of life. People often come to me when they feel overwhelmed, unable to shake certain reactions, or when past events continue to influence their day-to-day functioning. My role is to help you make sense of these patterns and to guide you through approaches that genuinely shift things.

Much of my work involves EMDR, which supports the brain in processing memories and sensations that haven’t fully resolved. Before we begin any processing, we spend time ensuring you’re fully prepared: understanding how EMDR works, learning grounding methods, and developing confidence in the steps of the approach. When processing begins, the work is paced and monitored so you always feel safe, supported and able to stay within your window of tolerance.

For clients who prefer a broader approach, I integrate EMDR with established therapeutic methods to address current difficulties, emotional regulation, and relational experiences. This might involve exploring patterns, strengthening internal resources, or addressing the ways stress shows up in the body.

Sessions are collaborative and focused. You’ll know what we’re doing and why we’re doing it. Some clients work with a specific goal in mind; others want to understand themselves better or untangle responses that have been there for years. Together, we design a plan that suits your needs, whether that’s a short period of targeted EMDR work or a longer exploration of the issues shaping your life.

My practice is suitable for individuals seeking help with trauma-related symptoms, anxiety, low mood, self-esteem issues, burnout, or experiences they’ve carried for too long. You can expect transparency, consistency, and a therapeutic approach that aims to create meaningful, lasting change.

My first session

Your first session is a full 60 minutes and is charged at my standard rate of £90. I don’t offer reduced-fee introductory sessions — instead, the aim of our first meeting is to give you a clear sense of how I work, what your priorities are, and whether I’m the right therapist for you.

During this appointment, we explore what brings you here, what you’re experiencing day to day, and what you hope will change. I’ll ask some focused questions to help build a picture of your history, symptoms, strengths and current pressures. You’re encouraged to share only what feels comfortable — there’s no expectation to go into detail or discuss anything before you’re ready.

If EMDR is likely to be helpful, I’ll explain how the process works and what preparation involves. Some clients begin with EMDR preparation straight away; others prefer to spend a little time settling into the work before we move in that direction. We’ll discuss the approach together so you always feel informed and in control of the pace.

By the end of the session, you’ll have a clearer understanding of how therapy with me would look, what steps come next, and what you can expect from the work. There’s no obligation to continue — you can take time to reflect and decide whether it feels like the right fit.

If you choose to continue, we usually agree a regular weekly appointment time. All ongoing sessions are also £90 per 60 minutes, and I offer both online and in-person appointments depending on your preference and availability.
