About me and my therapy practice

Do you find yourself constantly overthinking? Perhaps your mind races from one worry to the next, you struggle to relax, or you wake each morning with a sense of dread. You may feel exhausted from carrying anxiety around with you, yet no matter how hard you try, you just can't seem to switch it off.

If any of this sounds familiar, you're not alone.

Anxiety can affect anyone, and it can leave us feeling overwhelmed, stuck, isolated or as though we're no longer living the life we want. The good news is that anxiety can make sense, and once we understand why it's affecting us in the way it is, we can begin to change the way it impacts our life.

You may have already dipped into self-help books, listened to podcasts or searched online for answers. All of these are great resources, yet sometimes it's difficult to work things through on our own. Having someone alongside us to explore what's happening and gently guide us forward can make all the difference.

How I work

Hi, I’m Holly and I believe that every person's experience is unique. So rather than a ‘one size fits all approach’, I tailor the sessions to you, your circumstances and what you need at that particular time.

I've been supporting people with anxiety for over 14 years and really enjoy helping people to make sense of what's happening for them and to find a way forward.

Sometimes it’s just about giving yourself that safe space to talk openly and explore your thoughts and feelings. Sometimes you may want practical ideas and techniques to help you move forward. Often, it’s a combination of both.

My aim is to provide the warmth and understanding that helps people to feel safe enough to explore difficult thoughts and feelings, whilst also offering practical tools and techniques when these are likely to be helpful.

Practice description

Anxiety doesn't look the same for everyone

For some people it's a constant feeling of worry or being on edge. Others experience panic attacks that seem to come from nowhere. You may find yourself avoiding social situations, constantly checking for signs that something might be wrong with your health, feeling overwhelmed at work or being unable to switch off your mind at the end of the day. Whatever anxiety looks like for you, we'll work together to understand what's happening and find a way forward.

It’s also worth remembering that you don't have to wait until things become unbearable before asking for support. Many people come to therapy simply because they want to understand themselves better and regain a sense of balance and control.

Throughout our work together, compassion and kindness are at the heart of everything I do. Anxiety can leave people feeling frustrated with themselves or believing they "should be coping better". Together, we'll begin to understand what has led to your difficulties and to develop a kinder, more compassionate relationship with yourself.

What difference could therapy make to my life?

You don't need to have all the answers before you come to therapy. A big part of our work together is making sense of what's going on and understanding where those feelings may have come from.

It also isn't about getting rid of every anxious thought or never feeling stressed again – because that would be unrealistic! Ultimately, my hope is that therapy gives you the understanding, confidence and practical tools to become your own therapist, so that you feel better equipped to navigate whatever life brings in the future.
