About me and my therapy practice
It takes courage to make these first steps. Life can be challenging; presenting us with all sorts of obstacles. Sometimes we just need to talk to someone who will listen without judgement; who does not 'give advice' but simply holds the space for reflection, growth, and development.
I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions and am a BUPA recognised Counsellor.
I work with adults (aged 25+), across a broad range of emotional and mental health concerns such as anxiety, stress, sadness, low self-esteem, through to emotional self-care, and personal development.
I use an integrative approach whereby I am able to flexibly draw on different theoretical approaches to understand and meet your needs. I also work relationally, which focuses primarily on the relationship between client and therapist. This is built around trust, respect, safety, and empowerment. Kindness and compassion are fundamental. I am also trained and qualified in EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) which is an effective method and NICE recommended way of working with trauma.
Allowing yourself to receive regular weekly support is the first step towards feeling a sense of relief. Somewhere you can be listened to, heard, and be completely understood. You are unique, and the way in which you experience your problem is specific to you, therefore therapy is individually tailored to your needs.
If you'd like to book an appointment, please message me via the contact form on this page or call me on 07591 262373.
Practice description
It is important to find the right therapist for you.
As a BACP Registered/ Accredited Counsellor, and Bupa Recognised Counsellor with over 22 years' experience, I have previously worked for Insight IAPT Services, York University, & York St. John University, both Humber & York Teaching NHS Foundation Trusts, where I have supported clients experiencing a diverse range of mental health issues. I currently support members of staff working within the NHS, as well as having a successful private practice.
My specialisms are in working with adults who struggle with emotional self-care, anxiety, depression, anger, low mood, work related stress, trauma, and individuals experiencing difficulty in relationships (but not couple counselling). I support adults to explore, make sense of, and learn how to manage uncomfortable feelings, or difficult life challenges, in order for them to find a way forward and have peace of mind.
Often past experiences can cause problems and behaviours in the present, and therefore we may need to explore this in order for you to move forward with your future life goals.
Fee: £60 per 50-minute session.
Therapy Sessions are usually weekly at the same day and time. We will have regular reviews, to ensure you are getting what you need from our work together.
If you'd like to book an initial appointment, please message me via the contact form on this page or call me on 07591 262373.

About me and my therapy practice
BACP Accredited therapist with over 20 years' experience working with adults, and a fully qualified Supervisor with a Postgraduate Diploma in Supervision (Integrative) with Ellesmere Counselling & Psychotherapy Training.
This Supervision Diploma is mapped to the BACP supervision competence framework, accredited by The National Counselling Society (NCS) as an Advanced Specialist training, and recognised by the Humanistic and Integrative College (HIPC) of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
Supervision is a space for you to bring anything from your professional life that you would like to explore. This may be about focusing in and exploring your experiences with your clients, reflecting on your work life balance, considering your professional development goals, recognising the challenges of self care, or identifying where your personal story is interacting with your work as a therapist. The supervisory relationship itself may be a topic to explore.
Using the 7-eyed model of Supervision (Hawkins & Shohet 2012) together we will focus on the following:-
Focus on the therapy session as it is reported in the supervision.
Mode 1. Reflection on the content of the counselling session.
Mode 2. Exploration of the strategies and interventions used by the counsellor.
Mode 3. Exploration of the counselling process and relationship.
Focus on the therapy process as it is reflected in the supervision process
Mode 4. Focus on the counsellor’s countertransference.
Mode 5. Focus on the here-and-now process as a mirror of parallel of the there-and then process.
Mode 6. Focus on the supervisor’s countertransference.
Mode 7. Focus on the wider context.
Please contact me now for a chat to explore if we'd like to work together on 07591 262373 or message me via the contact form on this page.
Practice description
I see supervision as a collaborative, co-created and transformative experience. I also hold a spiritual understanding of the work of therapy and supervision, and believe that all human encounters have something to teach us. Supervision offers us the opportunity to become present to whatever is being highlighted through our work, to step back and notice what is being disturbed in the process, and to find ways to turn it into new understanding, new compassion for self and other, and greater acceptance of our shared humanity.
I am committed to offering a safe, confidential and supportive space within which we can both take risks, allow vulnerability and celebrate learning and development.
Consultancy Fees:
Qualified therapists £60 for 1 hour, and £90 for 1.5 hours monthly
