About me and my therapy practice
Hello, and welcome to 'your safe' space
My name is Jennifer - feeling heard, and listened to can make the difference to explore what is happening for you right now and to you getting to know and understand your 'true authentic self' to do things differently.
I have a Doctorate in clinical psychology, and I am an integrative trauma psychotherapist. This means I am trained in different modalities; CBT, IFS, Psychodynamic, EMDR, Solution Focused therapy, Gestalt therapy, attachment theory, Inner Child, Transpersonal, Existential, and creative tools sandplay therapy and spontaneous drawings.
I have run my own private practice since 2015 in London, Hampshire, I am DBS checked. My practice is now based in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
The use of the title Dr in this directory listing relates to the member’s doctorate qualification. However, this does not imply a general medical qualification.

My first session
Your first session is about establishing our therapeutic collaborative working alliance and building on this. Being an integrative psychotherapist means I have a client-centred approach to counselling; proving you an opportunity to develop a 'sense of self', supporting you to recognise your own attitudes, feelings and behaviours; empowering you to find your own true positive 'self' and to reach your full potential.
I do this by creating a safe, stable, non-judgemental environment; communicating congruence (genuineness), empathy, and unconditional positive regard towards you. The non-directive, humanistic approach I use enables you to find your own solutions to your problems and concerns.
Confidentiality: Our therapeutic relationship is built on trust; and is the foundation of gaining your trust and facilitating the therapeutic collaborative working alliance. The environment will always support you to feel seen, heard and listened to, to tell your story, for you are the expert.
