About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative counsellor which means that I draw on a variety of counselling approaches to suit each client and the issues that they are bringing. I work with adults, children and young people, providing a safe, non-judgmental space to listen to and help clients to process thoughts and feelings. As well as talking I use creative techniques to help clients of all ages to understand their relationships and express their emotions. I can help clients who have a faith who wish to incorporate it into the counselling process, working with clients of any faith or none.
Practice description
I work face-to-face in a room in central Southampton. I set up Safe Space Counselling in 2024 having previously been a volunteer counsellor at The Olive Branch, The Harbour and CCTS. I have more than 385 hours of counselling experience with more than 20 different clients. I qualified as an adult counsellor in 2009 and began the CBCT Level 5 Course in Counselling Children and Young People in January 2024.
My first session
I offer a free initial consultation so we can meet, get to know each other and clients can decide if they want to go ahead with counselling. For children and young people, this meeting is with a parent, including a short time with just the child or young person.
