  • Please do not contact me by text! Texts should only be used for brief messages concerning appointment arrangements, etc. Texts are not appropriate for sharing personal information, or for long conversations concerning clients’ therapy.
  • I cannot do an intake by text as there are important questions I need to ask before I can accept a new client.
  • I am very difficult to get hold of by phone. I am with clients four days a week, and my phone is always on silent. I do not answer calls after hours, or on weekends.

  • I do not provide online therapy to new clients. I only work in person. Online sessions are necessary occasionally for existing clients, if there are issues with transport, or childcare on a particular day. But otherwise, I work in person.
  • Please visit my website fullyhuman.co.uk before you contact me for the first time. The third item under ‘Appointments’ is especially important to read, if you are considering me as a therapist.
  • My website has regular notices under ‘News’ about whether I am able to accept new clients.
  • When you send an enquiry through this directory, I will respond by email and will kindly ask you to contact me by email from then on.

Practice description

I work with adult individuals (18+), relationships, and families. I also supervise, and offer consulting services to private and public companies. I am an experienced speaker, trainer, and author.

My approach to psychotherapy is based on Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB). I describe the way I work and how I think of therapy in Therapy Without A Therapist, which is available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle.

In this short book I explain how I see psychotherapy and my role as a therapist. It aims to take the mystery out of therapy. Given what we know now, there is no reason for psychology or therapy to remain a mystery to people. I would like everyone to have a good understanding of what therapy is, how it works and why, as well as what therapists do, or should be doing. This supports people who seek therapy to make better informed choices.

Therapy Without A Therapist is part of a series of short books covering trauma, anxiety, grief, and relationships. The entire series is available on Amazon worldwide.

For psychotherapy to work, our brain has to change, more specifically our brain connectivity has to improve. Therapists cannot change their clients’ brains directly in any significant way. They can only facilitate change. I work jointly with my clients to support the correct practice that lead to the neurological development that is associated with good mental health, growth and maturity. It is a way of working that is accurate, practical, and efficient. Mental health is too important to leave to guesswork, and people need to also have the tools to see and impact of therapy for themselves.

My first session

The first session an opportunity for a two-way assessment.

My role: To assess whether what the client wants and needs out of therapy is compatible with what I offer.

Client’s role: To assess whether they feel I am the right therapist for them.
