About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified and insured Integrative Counsellor and Hypno-Psychotherapist with over 10 years' experience in private practice. I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences at their own pace.
As an integrative practitioner, I tailor therapy to meet each client's individual needs, drawing on person-centred, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural (CBT), solution-focused and hypno-psychotherapeutic approaches. I believe there is no "one size fits all" approach, so I work collaboratively with clients to identify the most effective way of supporting them.
Building a strong therapeutic relationship is central to my work. Clients often describe me as warm, approachable and easy to talk to. I aim to create an environment where people feel heard, understood and accepted, enabling them to develop greater self-awareness, resilience and confidence.
I work with adults experiencing issues including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, bereavement, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties and life transitions. I offer both short-term, goal-focused therapy and longer-term exploratory work.
I provide therapy remotely via secure online video, telephone, email and text-based counselling, allowing clients to access support in a way that best suits their needs. I assess the suitability of remote working, ensuring confidentiality, appropriate risk management and safe, ethical practice.
I work within the BACP Ethical Framework and engage in regular clinical supervision and continuing professional development to ensure I provide an ethical, inclusive and effective service. I believe finding the right counsellor is an important part of the therapeutic process and strive to offer a warm, supportive and collaborative environment where clients feel empowered to make meaningful and lasting change.
Practice description
Reaching out for support can feel like one of the hardest steps to take, so finding a counsellor you feel comfortable with is important. My aim is to provide a warm, welcoming and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly, feel heard and begin to understand yourself more deeply.
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and Hypno-Psychotherapist with over 10 years' experience supporting adults through life's challenges. As an integrative therapist, I tailor our work to suit your individual needs, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches rather than following a single model. This allows us to work in a way that feels right for you.
I work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, bereavement, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life transitions and many other emotional or psychological challenges. Whether you are looking for support with a specific issue or want to gain a greater understanding of yourself, we can work together at a pace that feels comfortable.
Clients often tell me that I am easy to talk to, approachable and compassionate. I believe that a trusting therapeutic relationship is the foundation for positive and lasting change.
I offer flexible remote counselling through secure online video, telephone, email and text-based sessions, making therapy accessible wherever you are. I provide both short-term, solution-focused support and longer-term therapy, depending on your needs and goals.
You don't have to face things alone. If you're considering counselling and would like to find out whether I'm the right therapist for you, I'd be happy to hear from you.
My first session
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and explore what has brought you to counselling. I understand that taking this first step can feel daunting, so I aim to create a relaxed, welcoming and supportive environment where you can talk at your own pace.
Before our first appointment, I will send you my counselling agreement and a brief assessment form to complete. This helps me gain an initial understanding of your circumstances and ensures you have all the information you need about confidentiality, data protection, fees, cancellations and how I work.
During the first session, we will discuss the difficulties you are experiencing, what you hope to achieve through counselling, any relevant background information and whether the way I work feels like the right fit for you. There is no pressure to share everything at once, and you are always in control of what you choose to discuss.
I also use the first session to assess whether the support I offer is appropriate for your needs. If I feel another service or specialist would be more suitable, I will discuss this with you and, where possible, help you access the right support.
If we decide to work together, we will agree on a way of working that best meets your needs, whether that is short-term, goal-focused therapy or longer-term therapeutic support. My aim is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood and clearer about the next steps.
