About me and my therapy practice
All of us face difficulties in life from time to time, but this may be more acute now than ever before. You may be feeling sad, angry, depressed, anxious or overwhelmed when you think about what you are dealing with currently or have gone through previously. In these times, some people seek counselling or coaching to find a way through difficult times, develop coping strategies, and get the most out of life.
I can offer you time and a safe space to think and talk. I will hear you, not judge you, and offer you empathy and support.
Neurodiversity-Affirming Couples Counselling & Coaching
Relationships can be challenging, and when one or both partners are neurodivergent, misunderstandings can feel even more pronounced. Neurodiversity-affirming couples counselling and coaching offers a supportive, non-judgemental space to explore communication differences, emotional needs, and relationship patterns without trying to “fix” or change who you are.
I work with couples where one or both partners are autistic, ADHD, dyslexic, or identify as neurodivergent. Sessions focus on building mutual understanding, improving communication, and reducing conflict by recognising different ways of thinking, processing, and expressing emotions.
Together, we explore:
• Communication styles and how to reduce misunderstandings
• Emotional regulation and managing overwhelm
• Differences in needs around space, routine, and connection
• Building empathy, trust, and emotional safety
• Practical strategies that support both partners
My approach is strengths-based, collaborative, and paced to suit each couple. The aim is not to mask differences, but to help couples work with neurodiversity, creating a relationship that feels balanced, respectful, and sustainable for both partners.
Whether you are seeking to improve communication, reconnect emotionally, or navigate life changes, neurodiversity-affirming couples work can help you build a healthier, more understanding relationship.

How can I help you
There are many reasons why people seek Counselling or coaching. All of us face difficulties in life from time to time, but this may be more acute now than ever before. You may be feeling sad, angry, depressed, anxious or overwhelmed when you think about what you are dealing with currently or have gone through previously. In these times, some people seek counselling or Therapeutic Coaching to find a way through difficult times, develop coping strategies, and get the most out of life.
I can offer you time and a safe space to think and talk. I will hear you, not judge you, and offer you empathy and support.
I will help you understand different aspects of your life, your own behaviour, and the issues that are preventing you from enjoying life.
We can explore both general and specific problems. I have extensive experience working with.
Anxiety, Depression, Loss, Relationships/ Family Issues, Loneliness, Self-confidence, Self-Esteem, Stress, Loss of identity, Long-term life changes, disabilities
My core training is in integrative humanistic Counselling & Coaching, which means I use techniques from several types of therapy that I think are most suitable for individual clients. I’ll be focusing a lot on how you see yourself, how you relate to the world, and how I can support you in becoming more comfortable with yourself and the world around you.
Therapy can seem daunting, and it can be weird sitting in a room with someone independent, talking about your thoughts and feelings. It may be a completely new experience for you. You may find that you share more than you expected, which is a good thing. You don’t need to keep trying to do it all by yourself; we can overcome this together.
I believe that everybody can grow and move forward, although there are times in our lives when we need some assistance and guidance.

What to Expect in Our Sessions
Our first session is a gentle starting point, a space to explore what’s brought you to counselling. It might be a single concern or a collection of challenges that have built up over time. Together, we’ll begin to shape a clear understanding of your difficulties and consider how we can work through them collaboratively.
We may start with practical, evidence-based strategies to ease day-to-day anxiety and help you feel more grounded. When you feel ready, we’ll begin exploring deeper layers and past experiences that may still be shaping your present. Through this process, we’ll make sense of what’s been holding you back, so you can gradually release the pain and fear that may have felt overwhelming or immobilising.

About me and my therapy practice
I offer a calm, supportive space where you can talk openly, explore what’s been weighing on you, and begin to understand yourself with greater clarity and compassion. My approach is integrative and humanistic, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic models and tailor each session to your needs, pace, and goals. You are never expected to fit into a rigid method; the work adapts to you.
People come to me for many reasons: anxiety, low mood, stress, burnout, relationship difficulties, identity questions, grief, trauma, or simply feeling stuck. I also specialise in neurodiversity, including ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and late diagnosis support. Many clients come wanting to understand why life has felt harder than it “should,” why emotions feel intense, or why patterns keep repeating. Together, we explore these experiences gently and without judgment.
My role is to help you make sense of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and support you in developing practical strategies to feel more grounded and confident. I pay close attention to how you relate to yourself and others, the beliefs you’ve carried, and the experiences that may still be shaping your present.
I work collaboratively; you set the direction, and I walk alongside you. Some sessions focus on understanding the past; others focus on coping in the present or planning for the future. We might explore emotional regulation, boundaries, self-esteem, identity, or the impact of neurodivergent traits such as rejection sensitivity, overwhelm, or masking.
Above all, I offer a space where you can be fully yourself. You don’t have to hold everything together or have the “right words.” You show up as you are, and we work from there. I aim to help you feel more at ease in your life, more connected to yourself, and more able to move forward with confidence.
Practice description
Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially if you’re used to coping alone or keeping your feelings private. My sessions are designed to feel safe, steady, and supportive, a place where you can speak freely and be met with warmth, curiosity, and respect.
In our first session, we explore what brings you here and what you hope to gain. There’s no pressure to share everything at once; you set the pace. As we continue, sessions become a space to reflect, understand patterns, and explore what’s happening in your inner world. You might notice yourself saying things you’ve never said aloud before; that’s a natural part of the process, and it often brings relief and clarity.
I listen closely to what you say and how you say it, helping you notice the emotions, beliefs, and protective strategies that may be shaping your life. Together, we explore what feels overwhelming, what feels stuck, and what feels possible. If helpful, we bring in practical tools for emotional regulation, grounding, anxiety management, relationship navigation, or support for neurodivergent needs such as time blindness, rejection sensitivity, or burnout.
Sessions may involve talking through recent experiences, exploring past events, or identifying patterns that keep showing up. We might look at how you relate to others, how you speak to yourself, and how your nervous system responds to stress or perceived criticism. For neurodivergent clients, we often explore identity, strengths, sensory needs, and the impact of late diagnosis.
My aim is not to “fix” you, but to support you in understanding yourself more deeply and creating meaningful change. You don’t have to carry everything alone. Therapy offers a place to breathe, to feel, and to grow, at your own pace, in your own way.
My first session
Your first session is a gentle and supportive starting point. It’s a space where you can begin to talk about what has brought you to counselling, whether it’s a specific concern, a period of overwhelm, or a collection of experiences that have built up over time. You don’t need to prepare anything or know exactly where to begin; we will take things at your pace.
We’ll start by exploring what life has been like for you recently and what you’re hoping to gain from therapy. Some people share a lot straight away; others take time to feel comfortable. Both are completely okay. My role is to listen with warmth and curiosity, help you feel at ease, and begin building a clear picture of what you’re experiencing.
Together, we’ll look at the challenges you’re facing and consider how we can work through them collaboratively. If you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck, we may begin with practical, evidence‑based strategies to help you feel more grounded day‑to‑day. These tools can offer immediate relief and create a sense of stability as we continue the deeper work.
When you feel ready, we may explore the underlying patterns, past experiences, or emotional responses that could still be influencing your present. This might include understanding why certain situations feel triggering, why emotions sometimes feel intense, or why familiar cycles keep repeating. For neurodivergent clients, we may also explore areas such as rejection sensitivity, masking, burnout, identity, or the impact of a late diagnosis.
The first session is not about fixing everything at once. It’s about beginning a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe, understood, and supported. Over time, our work can help you make sense of what has been holding you back, ease emotional overwhelm, and move towards greater confidence, clarity, and self‑connection.

About me and my therapy practice
I work with people experiencing Rejection Sensitivity (RSD) with Neurodiversity: Why Small Comments Can Feel So Overwhelming.
What Is Rejection Sensitivity? Rejection sensitivity involves reacting strongly to social cues that might signal rejection, even when the intention is neutral or unclear. It can be triggered by:
• A neutral message interpreted as distant
• A slight change in tone
• Being left on “read”
• Constructive feedback
• Feeling overlooked or excluded
The emotional response is often immediate and intense. People may experience:
• Sudden overwhelm
• Shame or embarrassment
• Anger or defensiveness
• Anxiety and overthinking
• A strong urge to shut down or withdraw
Why It’s Common in ADHD and Neurodiversity
Although rejection sensitivity isn’t a formal diagnosis, it’s widely discussed within ADHD communities. Many people with ADHD and Neurodiversity experience differences in emotional regulation, meaning emotions can rise quickly, feel more intense, and take longer to settle.
A commonly used term is Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD),a description of the intense emotional pain triggered by perceived rejection. Clinically, this can be understood as a mix of:
• Emotional dysregulation
• Heightened threat sensitivity
• Past experiences of criticism or misunderstanding
• Difficulty interpreting social cues accurately under stress
Practice description
Why Small Comments Can Feel So Big
When the nervous system is primed to detect social threat, even small cues can feel significant. For example:
• A short reply may feel like disapproval
• A delayed response may feel like abandonment
• Feedback may feel like personal rejection
This isn’t simply “overreacting.” It’s the emotional brain responding faster than the logical brain can keep up.
The Emotional Cycle: Many people describe a familiar pattern:
1. Trigger – a comment, message, or tone shift
2. Instant reaction – shame, panic, sadness
3. Interpretation – “I’ve done something wrong”
4. Rumination – replaying the moment repeatedly
5. Protective response – withdrawal, people pleasing, defensiveness
Over time, this can affect relationships, confidence, and self-esteem
What Can Help You with
There’s no quick fix, but rejection sensitivity becomes more manageable with the right support:
• Understanding the pattern – naming it creates distance
• Emotional regulation skills – slowing the nervous system response
• Challenging interpretations – exploring alternative explanations
• Addressing Neurodiversity, ADHD or anxiety – improving overall emotional regulation
• Therapy – building tolerance for discomfort, reducing rumination, strengthening self-worth
