About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative, person-centred counselling psychotherapist with over 20 years' experience supporting adults and children through a range of emotional and psychological difficulties. I work in private practice and NHS organisational settings, offering both face-to-face and online therapy.

I recognise that taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting, particularly when you are unsure where to begin or how to make sense of what you are experiencing. My aim is to offer a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard and understood.

Practice description

My approach is integrative, drawing on person-centred therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Gestalt therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing). I also draw on Trauma Risk Management (TRiM) in my understanding of trauma and its impact.

At the heart of my work is a person-centred approach. I believe therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process, and I adapt my way of working to meet your individual needs and experiences.

I place great importance on the therapeutic relationship, helping you explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences without fear of judgement. Together, we can develop a deeper understanding of how past experiences, relationships and patterns may influence your present life.

When we encounter feelings of being stuck, I may gently offer a challenge or invite you to consider a different perspective. I believe that being both supported and gently challenged can create opportunities for greater self-awareness and meaningful change

Areas of interest

I support people experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, trauma, relationship difficulties and significant life changes.

I have a particular interest in supporting women through life transitions, including pregnancy, childbirth, motherhood and perimenopause. These experiences can bring physical and emotional changes that affect identity, relationships, confidence and sense of self.

I also welcome men navigating emotional challenges, relationship difficulties, fatherhood, changing responsibilities and questions around identity and wellbeing.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and explore what has brought you to therapy. There is no expectation to share more than you feel comfortable with. We will work at a pace that feels right for you, beginning to build a trusting therapeutic relationship and considering what you hope to gain from therapy.
