About me and my therapy practice

Counselling provides an opportunity to explore issues that might be causing you anxiety, stress or concern. Sometimes it's helpful to talk things through with a qualified counsellor, someone who is outside of your family and friendships.

  • I offer a safe space to talk and explore what is going on for you.
  • I offer short term and long term one to one counselling.
  • Gestalt counselling can help by assisting you to have more awareness of yourself and your situation, giving you more power and choice in your life.
  • I work with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress, sexual abuse, bereavement, life transitions and relationship issues.
  • I provide a confidential space where you can explore what is causing you difficulties and be heard without feeling judged or criticised.
  • In addition to face to face sessions I offer telephone and online counselling.

Practice description

As a Gestalt and trauma-informed therapist, my approach focuses on the whole person. I understand that past experiences and trauma can deeply shape how individuals protect themselves in the here and now and how past experiences can shape how they experience the world today.

I aim to support individuals develop a deeper awareness of themselves, their relationships and their current situation. By understanding how you experience difficulties, you can gain more clarity, power, and choices in your life. Together, we will work collaboratively and at your pace.

My first session

Starting therapy can feel daunting, so it helps to have some insight on what to expect.

I offer a free 30 minute initial consultation on-line via zoom. This is a gentle, no-pressure introduction to see what has brought you to therapy now and how we could work together. You will also get a sense of how I work. From this you may want to book your first session with me, or you may want to give yourself more time to decide.

If you do arrange your first 50 minute session, this session we will focus on getting to know each other, exploring what you hope to achieve in therapy and our contract of working together. There is no pressure to share everything right away. You are in control of the pace, and we will work together entirely at your comfort level.

About me and my therapy practice

As a Counselling Supervisor I offer clinical supervision to both qualified and in-training counsellors, psychotherapists and coaches.

This is a professional relationship which helps to reflect on the different aspects of the therapeutic relationship and process.

There is an ethical requirement from BACP, UKCP and some coaching professional organisations that you maintain regular supervision whether you are in training or are qualified.

Practice description

Supervision is a relational process that can best support therapeutic practice with an understanding of contextual and interrelated processes, including attention to issues of power and difference.

My first session

I offer a free 30 minute introductory zoom call to hear about your clinical practice and to discuss your supervision requirements. In addition this gives us both an opportunity to explore if and how we could work together.
