About me and my therapy practice
In my website I describe how I work. I sense and admire the courageous step it is for anyone to decide to enter therapy. My style of therapy is tailored around every client's issues and needs. During this Covid 19 Lockdown, I am also offering telephone sessions, which have become increasingly popular. We can make use of camera facility via WhatsApp or simply stay with the talking facility. Via Zoom is also an alternative. I am finding these to be very useful additional options for our work at any time, but particularly right now, as unfortunately face-to-face is unavailable at present.
I have now been in Private Practice for quite a while. I have gained experience in working with children, young people, adults and older clients.
My initial contact with clients involves both of us taking time to consider the issues impacting on their lives. We will look at what therapy entails, how the process of therapy unfolds, and I will try to answer any queries they may have in this regard. We will then identify their goals and begin a process of therapy tailored to meet their needs.
Practice description
My style of therapy is based on Person Centred Model which enables clients to think out loud and encourages them to explore along with me, in an effort to make sense of the issues impacting on their lives. We might also revert to cognitive/reality therapy if that appears appropriate.
Together we will reflect upon our progress, and on how their journey towards resolution of their issues is progressing.
Confidential Support, Exploration and Reflection are at the core of my work with all clients.
My first session
My initial session with clients is about us beginning to build a sense of safety and trust within us, in order to do this work together. It is about considering how it might be for us to work together. I like to explain and explore the true meaning of Confidentiality, Working at their pace, and How we can take time to consider all of what brings them to take this huge courageous step of beginning this process. What I can help with

About me and my therapy practice
I am an accredited Supervisor, and have been in Private Practice for a number of years. Over time working with supervisees, I aim for us to establish a way of working that inspires learning and will enhance supervisees' professional development. I see my style of supervision as Reflective in nature which invites curiosity and reflection from many angles. I like to weave in the concept of working creatively, where supervisees are open to that medium. I find this brings a different energy to our work which can be energising and refreshing. In supervision, I do believe that regular Reviews are essential. This offers space for both of us to consider our relationship, how we are working together, any concepts we might need to develop further and anything in particular that supervisees would like to develop within their practice.
I offer group supervision to small groups of supervisees. Although Group Supervision is a very different experience from one-to-one supervision, a well formed group of supervisees can build together a trusted place where well supported peer learning can be established, aiding to additional therapeutic and supervisory understanding and growth.
