Offering online and in-person therapy
About me and my therapy practice
As a therapist I offer a warm, reflective approach to think together with you in depth about aspects of yourself and your life which may be troubling you. Psychotherapy and counselling can offer a safe space to unpack emotional difficulties without judgement.
I offer both online and in person therapy. I also offer clinical supervision.
My orientation is psychodynamic: this kind of therapy works to identify and understand underlying thoughts and feelings, sometimes linked to past experiences and relationships. We identify the role of unconscious, as well as conscious, thoughts and emotions. Processing feelings and making these links together can help to bring about insight and to change deep-seated emotional and relationship difficulties.
I have significant experience working with a very wide range of difficulties and backgrounds in an NHS Psychotherapy Service with adults, and in NHS Primary Care Counselling, also in student mental health (Oxford University Counselling Service), as well as in private practice.
I completed my clinical training, culminating in a Master's in Psychodynamic Practice (Distinction), at the University of Oxford. I have published my research on aspects of the therapeutic relationship in the British Journal of Guidance and Counselling.
I also have an English literature background, and I have a an interest in connections between the arts, creativity and psychotherapy.
I am an accredited member of BACP.

About me and my therapy practice
I am an accredited psychodynamic psychotherapist, with over ten years' experience of clinical practice. In addition to my private therapy and supervision role, I have worked in a variety of therapy settings, including NHS Primary and Secondary Care Psychotherapy and Counselling Services; the University of Oxford Counselling Service, and secondary school counselling services.
I work therapeutically with adults from across the lifespan, and with a wide variety of clinical presentations, including complex.
I work with a neuroaffirmative stance, and have extensive experience of working with neurodivergent clients.
Although my primary modality is psychodynamic, I do sometimes work integratively to fit the needs of the client, and I support this in supervision also.
My qualifications are as below:
2023: Certificate in Group Analysis (Institute of Group Analysis)
2015: Masters in Psychodynamic Practice (Distinction), University of Oxford (a 4 year training, including initial Certificate and Diploma, prior to Master's).
2008: PhD English Early Modern Literature (University of Sussex)
2004: MPhil English Renaissance Literature (University of Cambridge)
2001: B.A. Hons English Literature and Language (University College London)
