About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP accredited psychotherapist, working with individuals and couples. Sometimes we know that something isn't quite right, but aren't sure why. Sometimes we can find ourselves repeating the same patterns despite wanting things to be different. Therapy can provide a space to make sense of what is happening and develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships. I work with a wide range of difficulties including anxiety, stress, low self-esteem,relationship difficulties, communication problems, life changes and recurring patterns.
Working with individuals - I will help you explore what you are experiencing now, but also how your experiences, relationships and circumstances may have shaped the way you see yourself and respond to the world around you. You might be finding that certain situations trigger familiar thoughts or feelings. We can work together to understand these patterns and consider what might help you respond differently.
Working with couples - Relationships can become difficult when couples find themselves caught in patterns that seem hard to break. You may be repeating the same arguments, struggling to communicate, feeling misunderstood or disconnected. Both people can end up feeling unheard, hurt or blamed, even when neither intends this. I can help you step back from these patterns and understand what is happening between you, rather than focusing on who is right or wrong.
My approach - People make sense of their experiences within the context of their relationships and the world around them. I take a relational and systemic approach to therapy to explore this. Whether you come to therapy on your own or as a couple, we can work together to understand what is keeping you stuck and explore possibilities for change.
You don't need to have everything worked out before you come to therapy. Sometimes the first step is simply having someone to talk to.
I am registered with Bupa, Aviva, WPA and Vitality Health.
