About me and my therapy practice

*Face to face Congresbury, North Somerset or online*  Hi, I’m Holly, a warm welcome. Specialising in counselling and psychotherapy if you feel depleted, anxious or on the path to burnout - including parents, SEND parents and carers. A supportive space to connect with your needs, recharge and improve your wellbeing.

Does this feel familiar?

You’re spinning lots of plates-it could be work, parenting, caring for loved ones, relationships and then there’s the pressure of modern connectivity. Feeling overwhelmed by too much to do.

Perhaps you have additional challenges in your life such as past trauma, loss, lack of support or managing a chronic health condition.

The constant pressure, expectations and not feeling you have enough resources are leading to emotional exhaustion, anxiety and depression

Feeling irritable and snappy with your kids or those around you. Conflict in your relationships

You may be finding it hard to focus, stay motivated and fully connect with the people you care about

There’s an inner voice of doubt, of not being 'enough,' and of measuring yourself against an idea of where you 'should' be

How can counselling and psychotherapy help?

If you feel like you've lost your way, therapy can help support you to find a way through. It can be an empowering step towards caring for ourselves and our mental health. Gaining insight and clarity into ourselves and our current experience, can pave the way for more fulfillment in our lives. At the heart of how I work is building a safe and trusting relationship with you so we can explore whatever it is you want to focus on.

  • Additionally I offer counselling for carers, parent carers and SEND parents. If you have a child or relative who is disabled, neurodivergent, has SEND needs and/or medical conditions, there may be additional physical, emotional and practical considerations in your life. Therapy can be a moment to pause, process what is going on for you and your family so you feel more resourced. I am also a parent carer.

Practice description

My approach

My approach is down to earth, hopeful and compassionate. I'm not here to judge you. I work in a collaborative way and we'll go at a pace that feels right for you. I can support you to tap into your inner resources and strengths, understand any patterns and themes in your life and this can help you make any changes that are meaningful for you.

I'm a trauma informed, integrative psychotherapist. This means I can tailor therapy to meet your needs and goals. You may want to process a distressing experience so you feel more grounded, find practical strategies to calm the overwhelm and reduce reactivity, quieten your inner critic and feel more self-confident or explore and live life closer to your values.

I've supported lots of clients who are neurodivergent or exploring what this means to them and adapt therapy for each person.

I’m trained in a range of approaches which I can draw on including: Relational therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). You may want to explore relaxation, somatic approaches (mind-body connection) or other aspects of self-care.

About me

I qualified as a therapist in 2010 and I have worked in GP surgeries in the NHS, as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT), with lots of clients experiencing anxiety, low mood, trauma and loss.

I've run several groups during my time in the NHS including a group for carers and one for mum's experiencing postnatal depression and anxiety.

My qualifications include:

*Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling (2010)

*Postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Studies (2015)

I've also done lots of additional workshops and training including:

*Neurodivergence in the counselling room (2025)

*Certificate in Couple/ Relationship Therapy (in progress 2026)

Having navigated my own journey through exhaustion and overwhelm, I understand what a big impact it can have. This personal experience helps inform my professional approach and I'll bring warmth and relatability to the sessions.

My first session

  •  I welcome enquiries to find out more with no pressure to commit to therapy. If you reach out to message me, I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
  • We can set up an initial free 15 minute phone call at a convenient time. This is an opportunity for you to ask me any questions and get a feel for my approach. I'll share with you more about how I work.
  • If we decide that that we're a good fit then we can set up some ongoing sessions depending on your needs. These are 50 minutes and can be open ended, or time limited. Some clients have clear goals they want to work on and may come for 6 sessions whereas other clients want an open ended, longer term approach.  Sessions could be weekly or fornightly.
  • At the beginning of working together you can tell me more about what brings you to therapy and what you'd like to get out of the sessions. If you're not sure that's okay too.

I look forward to hearing from you.
