About me and my therapy practice

My approach is grounded in Transactional Analysis and Relational Couples Therapy. I work with couples experiencing a wide range of relationship challenges, including communication difficulties, infidelity, intimacy and sexual concerns, parenting, and other issues that can place strain on a relationship.

Sometimes there isn't one obvious problem, things simply don't feel as they used to. In these situations, I provide a supportive, collaborative space where you and your partner can explore what is happening between you, deepen your understanding of one another, and improve the way you communicate. Together, we work towards creating the relationship you both want and value.

Together, we will explore how your past experiences, early relationships, and life events have shaped the way you relate to yourself and to your partner today. The patterns we develop in childhood and previous relationships often influence how we communicate, manage conflict, express our needs, and respond to closeness, distance, or vulnerability within our intimate relationships.

By developing a deeper understanding of these patterns, we can begin to recognise what may be keeping you stuck in unhelpful cycles. Rather than focusing on blame, we will work with curiosity and compassion to understand each person's experience and the meaning behind their responses. This increased awareness can create opportunities for new ways of relating, helping you and your partner build greater trust, emotional connection, and a more secure and fulfilling relationship.

I work with couples of all genders, identities, and backgrounds, at any stage of their relationship whether dating, partnered, or married and whatever has brought you to consider therapy.

Facing difficulties in a relationship can feel daunting, but most relationships experience challenges at some point, and seeking therapy can be a positive and constructive step towards creating the relationship you both want.

Practice description

Finding the right therapist is an important part of the process, so I am happy to answer any questions you may have by email or phone before arranging our first session.

In addition to my clinical work, I am a qualified supervisor, supporting the work of both qualified counsellors and trainees. I also work as a personal development tutor on counselling skills course.

I work from my private therapy room in South Manchester and often on zoom.

If you would like an initial consultation on the phone then please get in touch.

About me and my therapy practice

I have been working as a therapist now for over 15 years and have a particular interest in working with couples.

Difficulties in our essential, intimate relationships are some of the most common causes of unhappiness in our lives. This can lead to feelings of anxiety, depression and shame. Our sense of self worth is affected and often our health can suffer.

Therapy can help you and your partner to understand the conflict in your relationship and help develop new skills in overcoming destructive patterns of relating to one another.

I welcome all couples and am passionate about the value of relationship therapy in facilitating better communication and intimacy. I am a member of the Couples Inner Circle based in America where I am able to attend trainings and share ideas with other relationship therapists around the world, enabling me to continuously update the way I work. I have recently integrated EFT and RLT methods into my approach and am passionate about sharing these with my couples.

It is important to find a therapist that both you and your partner feel comfortable with and I am happy to meet for a free half hour session to discuss the therapy on offer and answer any questions you have.
