About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP Accredited counsellor with over 20 years’ experience supporting adults, young people and older adults through periods of change, loss and emotional difficulty. My approach is warm, steady and collaborative, offering a safe space where you can explore what’s happening in your life and begin to make sense of your thoughts and feelings.
I work integratively, drawing from person‑centred, trauma‑informed, CBT and psychodynamic perspective. This means I tailor therapy to your needs, whether you’re navigating anxiety, low mood, identity changes, family pressures, sight loss, health‑related issues or the impact of past experiences. Many people come to me during times of transition or uncertainty, when life feels overwhelming or different from what they expected. Together we explore what you’re carrying, what you’ve been managing alone, and what might help you move forward.
My style is gentle but grounded. I pay close attention to your pace, your strengths and your story. I offer space to talk openly, reflect, understand patterns, and develop ways of coping that feel realistic and supportive. I also have extensive experience in risk assessment, safeguarding and working alongside other professionals when needed.
Whether you’re looking for short‑term focused work or longer‑term therapy, I aim to create a calm, respectful environment where you feel heard, understood and able to explore what matters most to you.
Practice description
You can expect a respectful, honest, reliable therapeutic relationship where you set the pace. Whether you’re seeking short‑term focused work or longer‑term exploration, my aim is to offer a safe, supportive environment where you can begin to understand yourself more fully and move towards what feels right for you. Overall I really want to be able to help you feel better or achieve the goals you are aiming towards.
My first session
Your first session with me is charged at the same rate as any ongoing session. we use this time to begin forming a shared understanding of what brings you to therapy and what you may need going forward.
I would be mindful that you may be feeling a little anxious at this first meeting. You are not under any pressure to cover 'everything', we will work at your pace.
In this session, we talk through what feels most important for you right now, any relevant background, and what you’re hoping therapy might support. Together we begin to shape an assessment — a collaborative process where we explore your experiences, your strengths, and the areas that feel difficult or unclear. This helps both of us understand what is needed and whether short‑term, longer‑term or more focused work would be most helpful.
We also discuss practicalities such as frequency of sessions, availability, and any specific considerations that may support your wellbeing.
By the end of the first session, we will have a clearer sense of the next steps and whether working together feels right for you. My aim is for you to leave feeling heard, understood and informed about how therapy with me might support you.

About me and my therapy practice
I have worked in various backgrounds such as CYP Wellbeing Service, Addictions, older adults, and those with long term chronic conditions and disabilites.
As a supervisor, I offer a calm, reflective and collaborative space where practitioners can explore their work, deepen their understanding and feel supported in their professional roles. My approach is integrative and relational, drawing on many years of clinical experience across sight loss, trauma, bereavement, family work and complex emotional presentations. I aim to create a supervisory relationship that feels safe, steady and respectful, where supervisees can bring both their strengths and their uncertainties without judgement.
Practice description
Supervision with me focuses on developing reflective practice, strengthening clinical thinking, and supporting ethical, safe and attuned work with clients. Together we explore what is happening in the therapeutic relationship, patterns emerging in the work, areas of challenge, and the emotional impact of practice. I pay close attention to risk, safeguarding and professional boundaries, offering guidance when needed while encouraging supervisees to grow their confidence and autonomy.
I work collaboratively, believing supervision is most effective when it feels like a shared process rather than a directive one. Supervisees can expect thoughtful questioning, space to reflect, and a supportive environment where they can explore dilemmas, celebrate progress and consider new perspectives. My aim is to help practitioners feel grounded, resourced and clear about their next steps, whether they are trainees, newly qualified counsellors or experienced clinicians.
My first session
Your first supervision session is charged at the same rate as ongoing supervision. We use this initial meeting to begin forming a shared understanding of your practice, your client work, and what you may need from supervision going forward.
In this session we will talk through the contexts you work in, the client presentations you are managing, and any areas where you would like support, reflection or guidance. Together we begin to shape an assessment of your supervisory needs, looking at your strengths, your challenges, and the themes emerging in your work.
My approach is calm, collaborative and reflective. I ask thoughtful, gentle questions to help us build a fuller picture of your practice, but there is no pressure to bring more than you feel ready to share. We also discuss practicalities such as frequency of sessions, expectations, boundaries, and how we can work together in a way that feels safe, supportive and professionally grounding.
By the end of the first session, we will have a clearer sense of what you need from supervision and how our work can best support your development, confidence and ethical practice. My aim is for you to leave feeling understood, steadied and well‑supported as we begin our supervisory relationship.
