Availability

Hi

Yes, I currently have availability in my week for counselling and supervision sessions. I am not due to be taking time off in the near future. I am flexible in my working hours.

About me and my therapy practice

I have over 20 years experience as a therapist, working with  adults, young people and families in a variety of settings including the NHS and education. I have also worked for CAMHS alongside schools, GP's and diagnostic service for  neurodivergence referrals.  I have also worked as a school counsellor and am a qualified supervisor supporting both  trainee and qualified counsellors in their professional practice.

I am a qualified Humanistic Counsellor and also hold a CBT/IAPT qualification from Kings College London.

Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience supporting people with a wide range of issues and life circumstances, with particular experience in neurodivergence, anxiety and depression/low mood.

I have also worked with a specialist bereavement agency, supporting people through grief and loss.

I believe the counselling relationship is central to effective therapy and I place great importance on building trust, rapport and a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable and understood.

Practice description

From the very beginning of my counselling journey I have understood and focused on the importance of building a relationship whereby people can feel comfortable to be themselves without feeling judged or overlooked. You can expect a warm space giving time to explore past experiences and the impact of these. This provides time to look at what brings meaning to life and focusing on the importance of who you are and to give  support in building confidence and self-esteem.

I have also incorporated in my  practice a CBT approach when required and appropriate, and will look at goals and how these can  be achieved  with discussion and strategy as to what one would  like to change or improve. We can explore together any issues that might be blocking progress in a safe and honest way, always showing respect an kindness.

My first session

In the first session we can complete an assessment together to enable and establish boundaries and confidentiality. For the first session I can also give a discounted rate.
