I currently have space for new child, young person and parent work on Mondays and Tuesdays . After-school and early-evening slots fill quickly.

About me and my therapy practice

When a child is anxious, withdrawn or struggling with behaviour, it can affect the whole family. I help children and young people understand their feelings and experiences, and I support parents to make sense of what sits beneath the difficulties they see day to day.

My work focuses on the whole child. I pay attention to their emotions, development, relationships and the patterns in family or school life that may be keeping challenges going. Children rarely struggle in isolation, so I work both with them and with the adults around them to create calm, connection and practical change at home.

I am an accredited child and adolescent counsellor with over ten years’ experience working with children, young people and parents. I trained at the University of Cambridge and have completed specialist courses in trauma, attachment and child development. Alongside my clinical work, I am a Senior Lecturer on the MSc in Counselling Children and Young People at University of Northampton, where I teach and supervise trainee therapists.

I work with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, low mood, behaviour, autism, self-harm, emotional regulation, eating difficulties, trauma and family separation.

If you’d like to ask a question or discuss your situation, you’re welcome to email on playandtalktherapy@outlook.com or send a message through this listing.

Availability

I have daytime supervision availability from Mon-Thurs and can usually offer some flexibility around timing.

About me and my therapy practice

I offer supervision that creates space to think carefully about clients, therapeutic relationships, and the wider systems around the work, while also supporting your development and confidence as a practitioner.

My approach to supervision is collaborative and draws on an integrative approach, recognising that not all children and young people benefit from the same approach. Alongside exploring clinical process and interventions, I pay attention to the emotional experience of the therapist and the wider context clients live within. I aim to offer a space where uncertainty can be thought about rather than rushed past, and where both support and challenge are possible.

I am an accredited child and adolescent counsellor with over a decade of experience in working with children, young people and families. I trained at the University of Cambridge and have completed specialist training in trauma, attachment, and systemic thinking. Alongside my clinical work, I am a Senior Lecturer on the MSc in Counselling Children and Young People at the University of Northampton, where I teach and supervise trainee therapists.

I continue to work directly with clients aged 5–25 in both private practice and a therapeutic school for looked-after children. I also regularly support parents and caregivers alongside this therapeutic work. Remaining actively engaged in clinical practice helps keep my supervision grounded in the realities and complexities of the work.

If you’d like to ask a question or discuss whether supervision might be a good fit, you’re welcome to email playandtalktherapy@outlook.com or send a message through this listing.
