About me and my therapy practice
I am a Psychotherapist and Business Coach, working with clients over Zoom, throughout the UK and beyond.
I focus on chronic mental health including addiction, trauma and complex trauma.
I also help clients navigate the ‘meaning crisis’, the ‘meta crisis’ and global instability.
Practice description
I am fully trained in four psychotherapeutic approaches, and tailor treatment to each client’s needs and goals.
Person‑centred therapy: I create a warm, respectful, non‑judgemental space where empathy and authenticity help you feel understood and able to explore change.
Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (CBT): I use evidence‑based techniques to help you identify and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviours.
Creative Hypnotherapy: I work with your imagination and focused relaxation to support new ways of thinking and feeling.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing): I offer a structured, trauma‑focused method to help process distressing memories and reduce their emotional impact.
Addiction and recovery: my understanding is informed by long‑term participation in 12‑Step and Buddhist Recovery groups, which I integrate respectfully, if helpful.
Neuroscience‑informed option: I partner with Flow Neuroscience to offer clinician‑led tDCS (gentle transcranial electrical stimulation) as an adjunct for some clients with Major Depressive Disorder.
Clinician‑led treatment includes an equipment discount, remote monitoring, and an enhanced stimulation protocol. As with all interventions, I will discuss suitability, evidence, and alternatives before any treatment.
Additional training: I have training and/or experience in Schema Therapy, Gestalt Psychotherapy, NLP coaching, treatment resistant depression and mindfulness and meditation (I have also authored a short book on meditation and mental health).
For most of my career I have focussed on working with men of all ages and understand that most men are looking for practical help to overcome their difficulties without turning them into women.
In addition to being a Senior Accredited Psychotherapist I am also a Chartered Psychologist and a sociologist.
My first session
I offer an initial 30 minute appointment over Zoom to discuss your needs and how I might be able to help.
As I draw from a wide range of training and experience, I tailor my approach to the needs of each individual client. This doesn’t make me perfect, or fallible, but it does mean I have the flexibility to work across different presenting issues with a range of techniques or approaches. This is ideal for clients with complex needs working over longer time frames.
