About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced counsellor supporting people across Greater Manchester.
I currently work for a charity supporting male survivors of sexual abuse, rape and other forms of sexual harm. I have worked across community organisations, schools, workplaces and NHS settings, providing short- and long-term therapy to adults, children and young people from the age of five.
My practice is at its core person-centred. This means I see you as the expert on your own life and trust in your ability to find a way forward that feels right for you. Having someone alongside you who can listen without judgement and help you explore your experiences can be a powerful vehicle for change.
I have completed formal training in person-centred therapy, relationship therapy, solution-focused therapy, CBT and trauma therapy. I draw on these approaches flexibly, while keeping your needs and our therapeutic relationship at the centre of the work.
I support people experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, trauma and uncertainty about their personal direction. Much of my work involves relationships with partners, family, friends or colleagues. I also provide a non-judgemental space to explore sexual wellbeing, intimacy, identity, desire, sexual confidence and the impact of difficult experiences.
I have particular experience of working with men, LGBTQ+ people and neurodivergent clients, including those diagnosed or exploring their neurodivergence later in life. I affirm diverse relationship structures, including ethical non-monogamy, and have a professional background supporting and working alongside sex workers.
I also have extensive experience supporting counselling students who are accessing therapy as part of their training or personal development.
Please get in touch if you would like to explore whether we could work together. I aim to speak with clients before their first session and, if we are not the right match, will try to direct you towards someone better suited to your needs.
Practice description
I work primarily from Manchester city centre, with access to additional locations across Greater Manchester.
I usually structure therapy in blocks of 10 sessions, giving us a helpful review point to reflect on what is working and what you may need next. This does not mean you must attend exactly 10 sessions; our work may be shorter or continue for longer, depending on your needs.
Our first session focuses on getting to know one another. It gives you space to tell me about yourself, what has brought you to therapy and the wider context of your life. It is also an opportunity for us to consider how we might work together and whether I feel like the right therapist for you.
My first session
I always aim to speak with clients before we begin working together. This initial conversation is free of charge and gives us an opportunity to discuss what you are looking for from therapy. It is also an important chance for us both to consider whether we feel comfortable working together.
If we decide to continue, we will agree on an approach that reflects your needs and what has brought you to therapy. Our first full session will explore the experiences or challenges that have led you to seek support at this point in your life. We will also discuss how I may be able to help and what working together could look like for you.
What I can help with
Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Addictions, Anger management, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Child related issues, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Cultural issues, Depression, Health related issues, Identity issues, LGBTQ+ counselling, Loss, Men's issues, Mood disorder, Neurodiversity, Personal development, Phobias, Post-traumatic stress, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Stress, Trauma, Vegan allied, Work related issues

About me and my therapy practice
I offer individual and group clinical supervision to qualified and trainee counsellors, therapists, and people working in supportive or pastoral care roles, particularly across the education, health and charity sectors.
I am trained in Hawkins and Shohet’s Seven-Eyed Model and also draw on Proctor’s model of supervision. This allows us to balance professional development and learning with safe, ethical practice, while also attending to the emotional impact of the work.
As a person-centred supervisor, I aim to create a relationship with empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard. I want supervision to feel safe enough for honest reflection, appropriate challenge and conversations about uncertainty or mistakes. Our work will be based on mutual respect, trust and shared responsibility.
I have extensive experience of working therapeutically with adults, children and young people across a range of settings, alongside experience of managing counselling services and supporting clinical practice. I also undertake ongoing CPD in anti-oppressive practice, helping me to recognise how identity, power and the systems in which we work can affect practitioners, trainees, clients and the supervisory relationship.
Practice description
I work primarily from a venue in Manchester city centre, with access to satellite locations across Greater Manchester. I also offer online therapy through video, instant messaging and email, depending on your needs, preferences and accessibility requirements.
Sessions can be arranged flexibly. While many therapists choose to meet monthly, we may agree to meet fortnightly or use a different format that works better for you. We can review these arrangements as our work develops.
Where there is an agreed concern relating to risk or safety, I may be able to offer brief telephone contact between sessions. This would be discussed and agreed as part of our work and is not a replacement for speaking to necessary agencies if needed.
My first session
I always aim to have a free introductory telephone conversation with prospective supervisees before we begin. This gives us an opportunity to discuss what you are looking for from supervision and consider whether we feel we could work well together.
Our first supervision session will focus on helping me understand you and your practice. We will explore the clients and communities you work with, the settings in which you practise, the usual length and nature of your therapeutic work, and the CPD you undertake. We will also consider how you would like your practice to develop, your goals for supervision and what you need from me as your supervisor.
This provides a foundation for agreeing how we will work together and creating a supervisory relationship that supports your development, wellbeing, and safe and ethical practice.
