About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative transpersonal counsellor. The unique element of transpersonal counselling is that we encompass mind, body and spirit in the work. It’s a talking therapy but can also involve experiential exercises, visualisation and guided meditation. I sometimes use art and other creative techniques within therapy, which can help us access parts of ourselves that talking alone may not reach.
Before I trained in psychotherapeutic counselling I spent many years in the City as a banker and a lawyer. I am familiar with the anxiety and stress that working in pressurised environments can bring. I am also familiar with the particular stresses that corporate life brings – from starting out, through middle management and all the way up to board level.
I have experience of working with people with alcohol misuse and alcoholism as well as other addictions and addictive behaviours. My approach supports people who are in recovery.
I trained at the Psychosynthesis Trust in London and I am a registered BACP member.
How Counselling Can Help
The psychotherapeutic relationship allows you to find a way through issues of depression, anxiety disorders and stress, to name but a few. Often you are not sure what is bothering you but want to explore thoughts and feelings that have led you to feel stuck, to lose a sense of who you are or to see meaning in your life at this time. Counselling will give you a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space in which to do this. My role is to guide you and to use my professional training and skills to do this, with empathy, experience and compassion.
We will work in the way most suited to your needs, whether through short-term therapy or long-term counselling. We will work at your pace, safely but effectively.

How I Work
My style of counselling is gentle and compassionate. We will not be trying to ‘change’ or ‘fix’ you, but to make you the best and most comfortable version of yourself. To empower you, to build agency and purpose. To discover or reclaim the elements you would like more of in your life – be it relief from anxiety, peace, serenity, motivation, or the things that you are looking for.
I know that you hold the answers to what troubles you at the moment and it is my job to help you find those answers. The solutions that will work the best are those that are already within yourself and these are the ones that you will lead you to where you want to be. You, and everything that is so special and unique and wonderful to you and about you, are your best and most effective assets. Our work together is one of reflection and insight: we clear your path.
My first session
Getting Started: you may feel unsure of who to work with and how to choose. So contact me for a short call without obligation and let's talk. I can hear about you and what you'd like to get out of therapy. Then you can decide if you want to set up an initial meeting.
The next step is to meet for an initial session. After that if you want to keep going, we will arrange to meet every week for regular sessions. Therapy sessions are 50 minutes in duration.
I look forward to hearing from you.
