About me and my therapy practice
Hi, My name is Keith Fernandes and I’m a fully qualified counsellor currently working in private practice. I currently offer face to face sessions from a location based in Leeds City Centre. On Monday's or Wednesday mornings however, I offer Walk and Talk Therapy in East Leeds. This involves having therapy outdoors with all the benefits of being in nature. If this sounds like an interesting option why not enquire and we can discuss this further.
Practice description
I practice using the relational approach. This simply means that the basis of my approach focuses on the importance of the relationship between you the client and I the counsellor. By building a strong working relationship, we will create the vehicle through which change will occur. It is through relationships with others that we encounter difficulties and it is in these same relationships that we can affect positive change. By helping you explore the difficulties you are experiencing I will help you gain a greater self understanding, which will empower you to make the changes you want to positively affect your life.
My first session
It can be difficult choosing a counsellor as there are so many to choose from and where do you start? For this reason, I offer a free 15min telephone consultation where you can ask any questions you may have. After that I offer a 30-45min initial meeting where we can discuss what you want to achieve in counselling and get a feeling of how it would be to work together. If you are happy, we then look at scheduling some regular sessions.

About me and my therapy practice
Are you exhausted from trying to fit into a world that wasn’t built for you?
I provide a space where we can explore the weight of those expectations together, helping you find the clarity and answers that feel right for you.
Hi, my name is Keith Fernandes. I am a fully qualified counsellor in private practice providing a calm, grounded, and neuro-affirming environment.
What does it mean to work together in a neuro-affirming way? It means I recognize that your experience of anxiety, especially if you have Autism or ADHD, is often tied to how you’ve had to navigate the world. Rather than starting with a goal to "fix" or change how you show up, we simply begin by looking at what is happening for you. Whether you have a diagnosis or are just starting to wonder if your brain works differently, our work is about curious exploration—finding out what serves you, what feels heavy, and what you need to feel more at ease in your own life.
Practice description
I practice using the relational approach. This simply means that the basis of my work focuses on the importance of the connection between you, the client, and I, the counsellor.
By building a strong and trusting relationship, we create a safe vehicle through which we can explore your world. It is through our connections with others that we often encounter our greatest challenges, but it is within this same relational space that we can begin to find the answers we need. My role is not to tell you who to be, but to help you gain a deeper self-understanding. Together, we work at your pace to empower you to make the changes—or find the acceptances—that will positively affect your life.
