About me and my therapy practice

I work with adults (18+) of all genders to improve mental health and emotional wellbeing. I also offer relationship counselling to couples and those in non-traditional relationships.

With 10+ years experience I have worked with hundreds of people on many issues including anxiety, depression, abuse, bereavement, grief and loss, family issues, self-esteem, assertiveness and self-belief.

My own life-changing experiences of being a client were what drew me to retrain as a counsellor. I experienced for myself the transformational benefits of counselling and the huge changes it can make to self-esteem, confidence and self-acceptance. I believe that it is one of the healthiest ways to face life's issues and work through them. I call counselling 'the ultimate form of selfcare', and I am passionate about using it to help others to help themselves.

Practice description

I work from my counselling room in Falkirk, Central Scotland, and online.

I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and trust that you are able to get to where you want to be.

In our sessions I will take your lead in what you want to explore, and - through questioning, observations and gentle challenge - will work with you to find your own answers and solutions.

My first session

Our first session is about me getting to know you - understanding the issues that you want to focus on, hearing your worries and distress, and helping you to think about how you might begin to over come the barriers that you are facing.

We will briefly go over our written contract, and you can ask any questions you have or let me know of anything that will be helpful/unhelpful for you in sessions.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a person-centred counsellor and supervisor, so work from this foundation.

My strengths lie in helping therapists and trainees to develop their confidence, increase their self-worth and recognise their own skills and value. I can motivate people to move towards goals and aspirations and enjoy working with people to help them achieve their potential.

I have been a counsellor in the third sector and in private practice and work with adults (18+) of all genders with wide-ranging presenting issues. I have been practicing for over 10 years, and supervising for 6+ years.

I am passionate about the benefits of counselling and about facilitating other therapists to develop and flourish in their practice.

My preference is to follow your lead in what you bring, to help you explore your client work and your responses to that through questioning, offering observations, and gentle challenge.

Practice description

I work with both qualified and trainee counsellors .

As your supervisor, I aim to provide a space where you feel heard and understood, and that empowers you to do your best work. I want you to feel safe to bring your "face-palm" moments as well as your wins. I want to help you grow your confidence in that you are working ethically, safely and within your competencies.

I offer a concessionary rate of £50 per hour for trainees.
