About me and my therapy practice

I'm a BACP Accredited counsellor and psychotherapist offering online counselling and EMDR therapy across the UK. I specialise in working with police officers and staff, other emergency services personnel, and serving and former members of the armed forces.

I work with police personnel through an occupational health agency, so I understand shift work, repeated exposure to distressing incidents, and the worry about what asking for help might mean for your career. My private practice is independent of your employer. You can contact me directly, and nothing is shared with your force or service without your consent, except in the rare situations where the law or safeguarding requires it. I explain these limits at the start.

I'm trained in EMDR (standard training, EMDR Europe-accredited, completed October 2026), and I combine it with talking therapy where that suits you better. My core approach is pluralistic: we work out together what is likely to help you, rather than applying one method to everyone. I originally trained in psychodynamic therapy and have worked in the NHS and in private practice.

I also see adults outside the services, including people with concerns about their drinking.

Practice description

Sessions are online, by Zoom, Microsoft Teams or WhatsApp video, so you can see me from anywhere in the UK. I offer appointments that work around shift patterns.

• Counselling: £50 for a 50-minute session

• EMDR: £95 for a 90-minute session

• Free 15-minute introductory call before you decide anything

• A reduced rate can be discussed if you're in financial difficulty

Payment is after each session. I ask for 48 hours' notice to cancel; otherwise half the fee is charged. I reply to enquiries within one working day. The easiest way to reach me is the contact form on this page or a WhatsApp message via my website.

My first session

We start with a free 15-minute call so you can ask questions and see whether I feel like the right person. In the first full session we talk about what has brought you, what you'd like to be different, and how confidentiality works. Together we decide whether counselling, EMDR or a mix of both fits best. EMDR does not begin straight away: we spend time first making sure you have the support and coping strategies in place.
