About me and my therapy practice
As a therapist, I hold the relationship that we develop in sessions to be especially important and vital to the success of the therapy. This is why I offer a free 30 minute consultation to ensure that we are a good fit.
I have been a practicing therapist for close to a decade. I have experience dealing with a range of issues from trauma to helping you attain greater levels of achievement and contentment in your life.
I aim to offer a calm, honest and non-judgemental space within which you will feel safe enough to unpack what you feel might be holding you back. I endeavour to be transparent about the way I work and will adapt and modify my way of working based on your needs. I am a person centred / existential counsellor which means that I believe my role is to facilitate the your own healing and recovery process and I am skilled at considering the holistic needs of each client.
I use CORE measures of assessment to set goals at the start of therapy, to track the progress of therapy and to give a numerical underpinning to the success of the work as it comes to an end. I encourage feedback at every stage of therapy.
I run a small independent private practice and work from my home. I offer a free 30 minute consultation for clients wishing to know more about therapy and about the way I work.
My first session
In our first session together you will have time to talk about things that are troubling you and to set out what you want to achieve through counselling. This is a safe and confidential space for you to say everything that has been on your mind.
I will be there to listen and to reflect on what you are saying to try to understand what your issues might be.
I offer a calm, non-judgemental presence.
In this session we will also go through the contract and my privacy statement.
After this first session, if you feel I am a good fit for what you need we will book in a number of sessions.
I do use CORE measures of assessment at each stage of the process.
