About me and my therapy practice
I'm Sharon Nicholson - BACP Accredited Therapeutic Counsellor and Brainspotting Practitioner with over 20 years of clinical experience.
Trained in Brainspotting with Dr David Grand (founder) and Dr Mark Grixti, Head of Brainspotting UK. Complex Trauma Certification, Levels 1 & 2, (CCTP/CCTP-II) - Janina Fisher, PhD.
I work online with clients across the UK, including Virginia Water, Surrey, London, and the South East.
I specialise in betrayal trauma, in its many forms - not just infidelity - alongside narcissistic abuse and relational trauma.
Many of those I work with have been carrying something for a long time. They are functioning - often well - but something essential has gone quiet. They second-guess themselves, feel anxious, on edge, or struggle to reconnect with who they are, whether the relationship is still ongoing, ended recently, or ended years ago.
This specialist work goes further than talking, and reaches the places that insight and understanding alone often haven't been able to touch.
I use Brainspotting, alongside parts-informed therapy, to work with the nervous system as well as the thinking mind - because lasting change doesn't always happen through insight alone.
🌿 "After having a number of unsuccessful attempts to find the right therapist for me, Sharon has been more than I had even allowed myself to hope for. She totally exceeded my hopes or any expectation I may have had."
— Client experience
Practice description
I offer the following ways to work with me:
- A focused Betrayal Trauma Intensive - 3-hour sessions over 2 or 3 days consecutive days
- The steady rhythm of 90-minute individual sessions
🌿 "I have tried CBT, Hypnotherapy, Mindfulness, Compassionate Mind Training and have a whole library of books on the subject — but nothing has really worked long term until I discovered Brainspotting."
— Client experience
🌿 "Our sessions have been life transforming for me. I feel like I have fast-tracked out of many years living in a painful freeze state."
— Client experience

About me and my therapy practice
I'm Sharon Nicholson - BACP Accredited Counsellor and Brainspotting Practitioner with over 20 years of clinical experience.
Based in Weymouth, Dorset, I work exclusively online with clients across the UK.
I have a special focus in relational trauma - betrayal, narcissistic abuse, and the quiet, cumulative harm of relationships that slowly changed you.
Many of those I work with have been carrying something for a long time. They are functioning - often well - but something essential has gone quiet. They often feel lost, stuck in overthinking, like they've never quite felt enough.
I use Brainspotting, alongside parts-informed therapy, to work with the nervous system as well as the thinking mind - because lasting change doesn't always happen through insight alone.
This work goes further than talking, and it reaches the places that understanding alone often never quite touches.
🌿 "Sharon has been like a wonderful guide, helping to support me towards a better, happier life path — one I didn't know how to find fully for myself, because I had no reference points."
— Client experience
