Practice description
I am an autistic counsellor and coach working within an existential, integrative model. At the heart of my work is the belief that meaningful change begins with a relationship built on openness, trust, and respect. When you come to see me, we will work together to create a space where you can move forward at your own pace — whether that means healing, growing, making changes, or sometimes simply having somewhere to offload and be heard.
My sessions often have a collaborative feel. They can be a space for ideas, reflection, and practical problem-solving. At times the work may feel challenging and we may stumble along the way, but we will co-create an encounter in which you are the focus, and where obstacles can be explored and worked through together.
As an autistic practitioner, I tend to be direct, thoughtful, and curious. I may ask clear questions, while also encouraging you to ask your own. Many clients find this particularly helpful, especially if they are neuro-divergent and looking for someone who understands their experience from the inside. We can work together on practical strategies for sensory, communication, or executive functioning challenges, as well as explore how neurodivergence may affect your relationships.
I have extensive experience counselling doctors in training within NHS medical school settings, and this has given me a strong understanding of the pressures and complexities faced by junior doctors and early-career healthcare professionals. I continue to hold a reduced-fee space in my practice for those at the beginning of their NHS careers.
Alongside this, I support parents of children with additional and special needs. I am the parent of an AuDHD child and have previously worked as a childminder and teacher. My professional background, lived experience, and own neurodivergence have shaped the way I work, allowing me to offer informed, compassionate support to those navigating the challenges of raising, supporting, and caring for their children.
My first session
The first session is a chance for you and I to see if we are the right fit, counselling is not a one size fits all and you may need to speak with a few of us before it feels right. For this reason I offer a half hour online session free of charge.
I won't ask you to complete an assessment first but I might ask if you have any diagnosis (this can be self identifying) and how this impacts you if you have disclosed Autism or ADHD.
