About me and my therapy practice

I do this work because I’ve lived through it. I understand, from the inside out, what it means to carry trauma, and how hard it can be to believe that healing is even possible. My own journey taught me that recovery isn’t about erasing the past, but about reclaiming your relationship with it. That’s why I offer EMDR: because it’s a compassionate, effective way to help people process pain, shift long-held patterns, and reconnect with a sense of safety, choice, and possibility. I’m here to walk alongside women who are navigating the difficult road out of trauma, because I know how transformative it can be when someone truly sees you, and believes in your capacity to heal.

I specialise in EMDR therapy, short-term counselling, and long-term psychotherapy, supporting clients through trauma, anxiety, depression, and problematic substance use. Additionally, I have extensive experience working with individuals going through menopause and the emotional impact of cancer, helping them manage the psychological and emotional challenges these life transitions can bring.

Alongside one-to-one therapy in Plymouth, Looe and Online, I run EMDR retreats, wellness retreats and immersive group circles for women at the beautiful Kilminorth Cottages in Looe. I also offer reflective practice sessions for individuals and workplace groups.

EMDR Therapy

A powerful, evidence-based approach to healing trauma and emotional distress EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a structured, research-backed therapy that helps you process distressing experiences that may still feel “alive” in your body and mind. 

Using gentle techniques like eye movements or tapping, EMDR supports your brain’s natural ability to heal, without needing to talk through trauma in detail. Over time, painful memories can lose their intensity, helping you feel more in control of your emotions and your life.


Short Term Counselling:

Support for life’s immediate challenges and emotional overwhelm. Whether you’re facing a crisis, relationship stress, work pressure, or simply feeling stuck, short-term counselling provides a space to talk things through and reconnect with your strengths.

Together, we’ll explore practical coping strategies, reflect on your feelings, and help you gain clarity in the present moment. Even a few sessions can make a meaningful difference.


Long term psychotherapy:

Deep, transformational work to break free from the past If you’ve been carrying emotional pain for a long time or find yourself repeating patterns that don’t serve you, long-term psychotherapy offers a space to explore these deeper layers.

Through a trusting therapeutic relationship, we can gently explore early experiences, beliefs, and emotional responses - helping you build lasting self-awareness, self-compassion, and personal freedom.


Reflective Practice:

Support for individuals and teams in emotionally demanding work If you work in a caring or high-pressure profession, reflective practice offers a vital space to pause, process, and protect your emotional wellbeing.

Whether you’re a therapist, healthcare worker, or in a leadership role, I offer individual and group sessions tailored to your context. These sessions help prevent burnout, deepen resilience, and support meaningful, emotionally intelligent work.
