About me and my therapy practice
You are likely here because you feel anxious, despondent or stuck in some way. Maybe you've tried therapy before with success or less success, or explored self-help routes and nothing has really clicked long term.
I distil the best of somatic psychotherapy, psychotherapy and neuro-cognitive therapy to resource you with the confidence to work with yourself, do your internal repairs, bring mental relief and drive the change that you want to see. I'm an integrative therapist with 15 years expertise. I am also a clinical specialist in neurodiversity.
I specialise in the integrated treatment of anxiety including OCD and intrusive thoughts. I have additional clinical training in working with neurodiverse clients, which means that all aspects of the the therapy are adapted to different cognitive and sensory processes.
Good therapy is built on a good spirited working relationship. Get in touch, we can arrange a free 15 minute consultation and see if we are right for each other.
The use of the title Dr in this directory listing relates to the member’s doctorate qualification. However, this does not imply a general medical qualification.
Practice description
I'm a good therapist for people who are willing to make changes for the better, even if they don't feel ready yet. That's what therapy is for, resourcing you with the confidence to make the changes.
I work in a dynamic way, with a focus on the application of the work that happens in the room to your life outside of it. I work in a focused, adaptive and instinctive way that respects what you bring to a session that day and what else is going on for you. For example, we may have decided to do a piece of work in the next session, and when it comes to it, you have had an exhausting day of masking, are knackered and can't think straight to do it. We would adapt and perhaps focus the session on some body based work or something creative. Or you might have had a big argument with your partner and simply need to off load and get some perspective. This is the benefit of working with an integrative approach. We have different doors to open.
My first session
In the first session we would talk through a case history, in order to get an understanding of your life experiences to date, any health or significant issues or trauma, and to set goals for the therapy. From that we would decide on the right therapeutic approach for you. Everyone is different.
I see clients in person at my lovely office space in Liverpool. I also see clients online in an equally lovely space.
