About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Janet. Qualified for 20 years, I offer gentle, compassionate support if you are feeling anxious, low, lost, or overwhelmed. I'm here to help you work through current struggles or heal from the lasting effects of painful past experiences.
I offer a caring and therapeutic relationship for you to be heard and for us to work through whatever has brought you to see me. I am experienced in working with young adults, adults and older clients and with a wide variety of problems.
Talking to a counsellor can help you if you are struggling with anxiety, stress or depression. I offer a professional and caring relationship which can also support you if you are going through a bereavement, relationship difficulties or any other difficult life event.
If you are feeling at a crossroads, stuck in a rut, or that everything is getting on top of you, coming to see a counsellor can help to provide clarity and support which in turn enables you to make any changes that you may decide are necessary.
What we experience as children can have a profound influence on how we feel about ourselves and our place in the world as adults. Clients will often come to me when they have endured difficult childhoods. Therapy can help to soothe these early wounds, and I will work with you to heal the hurt experienced by your younger self, with care and understanding.
I'm very happy for you to contact me to ask any questions before deciding if you want to make an initial appointment.

About me and my therapy practice
I have 17 years experience as a fully qualified supervisor. I offer a warm, friendly and supportive environment for counsellors to reflect upon their client work and professional practice.
I also provide supervision of supervision for other qualified supervisors and consultancy for allied professionals.
The supervision relationship is such a special one: Supporting and guiding other counsellors; sharing in their successes and helping them with their dilemmas; challenging and hopefully inspiring them in their work. And above all, caring for them and their clients.
I use the 7-eyed Process Model of Supervision (Hawkins & Shohet) as I like the relational focus, which encourages the supervisee to reflect on the full system around their client work.
I am also inspired and informed by feminist supervision principles of empowerment, collaboration and egalitarianism.
