About me and my therapy practice

I am a  psychodynamic therapist practicing in Canterbury and providing therapy in-person, online via Zoom and by telephone.

My clinical experience started at London’s longest serving counselling provider- Highgate Counselling Centre where I became a staff counsellor. I have taught counselling at The City Literary Institute, Holborn. I have also facilitated personal development groups for certificate and diploma students. Alongside running a private practice, I train Foreign and Commonwealth Office staff to assist British Nationals in crisis situations.

I aim to support you in addressing difficult or painful issues from your past and present. By listening to what is going on beneath the surface, and through the experience of being together, I aim to gently bring to light what gets in the way of you reaching your full potential.

Consultations are for 50 minutes at a regular time each week which we will have agreed. If we decide to work together, I will ask you to provide contact details for yourself and for your GP.

Missed appointments are payable, but where possible, I will try to provide an alternative time the same week. I invoice monthly.

Practice description

My consulting room is on the first floor of Concorde House Clinic, on Stour Street. This is a quiet space where we will not be disturbed. There is a toilet on the ground floor. Pay by hour parking is available- please enquire.

My first session

A first session takes up to 60 minutes and is an opportunity for us to think together about anything you want help with. Importantly, it allows us to understand if therapy with me would be helpful for you at this time. It commits you to nothing beyond the appointment. I will ask you to tell me what has brought you to seek therapy now, and to tell me anything you want to share about yourself and your experiences. You will be listened to attentively and respectfully. If we decide to work together, we will arrange a time and a day for your therapy to begin.

If you contact me by email, text or phone, I will offer a free 20 minute phone consultation- this provides an oportunity, prior to any financial committment, for us to understand more about each other and for you to ask any questions you might have; these will be welcomed and taken seriously.
