About me and my therapy practice
Have you found yourself struggling to communicate with your partner, manage ongoing arguments, cope with a break up or come to terms with an affair? Perhaps you are feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, work related stress, bereavement or low self esteem. You don't have to face it alone. I offer a warm, safe and confidential space. Together we can make sense of what is happening, and explore new ways of coping and help you move towards a positive change
I specialise in couple counselling, relationship issues (including family counselling to adult members) and eating disorders. I have over 19 years of experience, and am a fully qualified accredited therapist. I work integratively, using different theoretical models to support my client(s).
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, and when you're struggling it can be hard to know where to turn. I offer a supportive and confidential space where you can feel listened to and understood. I offer sessions via Facetime, Zoom or Telephone and would be happy to discuss how I may be able to help.
I am registered with various private health care providers, including Bupa,Aviva and The Nuffield. I am a qualified Supervisor and a lecturer in Counselling.
My first session
The first counselling session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other in a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental environment. We will explore what has brought you to counselling, discuss any concerns or goals you may have, and consider how we might work together moving forward.
There is no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with. The session is led at your pace, allowing space for you to talk about your experiences, thoughts, and feelings in a way that feels right for you.
During our initial meeting, I will explain how counselling works, answer any questions you may have, and complete any necessary assessment information. This also gives you the opportunity to decide whether you feel comfortable working with me, as the therapeutic relationship is an important part of effective counselling.
By the end of the session, we can reflect on your needs, identify any initial goals, and agree on next steps if you decide counselling is right for you.
