About me and my therapy practice
Firstly, I would like to offer you a warm welcome,
I understand that reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step. Even though conversations around mental health have become more open, asking for support can still feel difficult. You may find yourself carrying feelings of shame, guilt, or self-doubt, wondering whether you should be able to cope on your own.
The truth is, we all face challenges at different points in our lives, and sometimes we need support to help us make sense of what we're experiencing. If you had a broken leg, you wouldn't think twice about seeking professional help. Our mental and emotional wellbeing deserve that same care, understanding, and compassion.
You don't have to face things alone. Counselling can provide a safe and supportive space where you can be heard, understood, and accepted exactly as you are.
How I can support you:
My work is centred on empowerment, self-awareness, and growth. Rather than offering generic coping strategies or one-size-fits-all solutions, I work alongside you to develop approaches that are meaningful to your unique experiences, values, and goals.
Whether you are struggling with a long-standing issue, facing a period of uncertainty, or adjusting to a recent ADHD or Autism diagnosis, counselling with me can offer you a space to explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement. Together, we can deepen your understanding of yourself, build on your strengths, and create meaningful, life-affirming changes that continue long after counselling has ended.
With over a decade’s experience with clients and twenty years of experience working in the mental health charity sector. You can trust that you will be engaging with an experienced practitioner.
I specialise in helping individuals who are facing issues with:
Anxiety and Depression
Trauma and its lasting impact
Relationship difficulties
Addiction and recovery
Attachment-related issues
Bereavement
Low self-esteem
Pet Bereavement
Practice description
For over ten years, I have welcomed clients into my private and confidential practice, offering a calm and comfortable space where they can talk openly and feel truly listened to. With convenient parking directly outside, visiting is made as easy as possible. As a humanistic counsellor, I work within the evidence-based Person-Centred Approach, providing a compassionate, non-judgemental environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, feeling heard, understood, and supported every step of the way.
Whatever you may be facing, counselling can help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, overcome challenges, and create meaningful, lasting change.
I offer a free 20-minute introductory phone call, providing a warm and welcoming space for you to talk about what has brought you to counselling at this time. Together, we can explore what you are looking for from therapy and answer any questions you may have. Most importantly, it gives you the opportunity to see whether you feel comfortable, understood, and supported, so you can decide if I am the right counsellor for you..
I offer counselling:
Face to face
Online (Zoom)
By telephone
My first session
Your first appointment is an assessment and is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We’ll talk about what has brought you to counselling, what you would like support with, and what you hope to gain from the sessions. I’ll explain how person-centred counselling works and answer any questions you may have. Most importantly, the assessment gives you the chance to see whether you feel comfortable with me and whether I’m the right counsellor for you. There is no pressure to commit to further sessions—you should feel that counselling is a safe, supportive space where you can be yourself and explore what matters to you.
