About me and my therapy practice
I am a passionate BACP-accredited Psychotherapeutic Integrative Counsellor & Clinical Supervisor with over 20 years of experience across the helping professions. My professional journey began in social work, supporting families navigating complex psychosocial challenges to facilitate positive change. This experience provided me with a strong foundation in relational practice & a deep understanding of the complexities of working with adults, young people & families.
I later built upon my skill set qualifying as a Psychotherapeutic counsellor working with both adults & young people from 11-26 in the education & charity sectors, expanding my experience further to include roles in service leadership contributing to the development & management of a counselling provision.
My experience includes over 12 years of therapeutic work with young people, school-based counselling, private practice & counselling service management. As a former School Counselling Manager, I supported counselling teams, contributed to complex safeguarding & ethical decision-making, & helped ensure the delivery of high-quality, ethically grounded counselling services. These roles have given me valuable insight into the professional, relational &organisational challenges practitioners navigate in their work.
Alongside my supervisory practice, I continue to work as an integrative counsellor in private practice, supporting adults. Maintaining my own clinical work enables me to remain closely connected to the realities of therapeutic practice & the experiences of clients, bringing a current, grounded & practice-informed perspective to supervision.
I welcome opportunities to work & collaborate with individual practitioners, counselling services & organisations that share a commitment to reflective practice, ethical integrity, inclusivity & the development of confident, thoughtful & resilient professionals.
Practice description
As a clinical supervisor, I offer a collaborative, supportive & reflective space for individuals & small groups of qualified & trainee therapists, safeguarding leads, teachers, pastoral & mental health professionals working across education, social care & local authority settings. My integrative supervisory approach is tailored to each supervisee’s needs, experience & professional development. My approach draws from & integrates the normative, formative & restorative model, the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision & the developmental approach shaping the way I work to offer a nurturing containing space that promotes ethical & safe practice, encouraging professional growth whilst holding space to explore the emotional impact of the work helping practitioners feel heard, valued & resourced.
I aim to help supervisees explore complex cases, consider ethical & safeguarding dilemmas, strengthen their clinical competence whilst remaining attentive to their own wellbeing. I value supervision as a space where practitioners can think openly, reflect on the therapeutic relationship, recognise their strengths & identify opportunities for growth, while maintaining professional accountability & safe practice.
My approach is grounded in empathy, curiosity, respect for diversity & an appreciation of the personal, relational & systemic factors that shape our work. I believe effective supervision supports not only the practitioner’s development & wellbeing but also the quality of care offered to our clients.
