Availability
My usual working hours are Monday-Friday between 10am-5pm with some flexibility for evening sessions.
Sessions delivered wither on-line via video, telephone or text based.
In-person at various locations in the local community. With home visits by previous arrangement for the elderly, those with chronic illness or receiving treatment.
Brief or longer term therapy is provided.
Additional service of single session therapy to concentrate on one problem, working to gain obtainable action plans or solutions. These sessions sometimes focus less on the emotional needs but offer practical and immediate support in the moment which cam work well for individuals who do not wish to commit to regular therapy.
About me and my therapy practice
Hello I'm Megan, I am a counsellor and integrative psychotherapist. Picking Up The Pieces specialise working with trauma, loss and adjustment issues.
Our focus is to provide you with a friendly, confidential and safe space, supporting you away from life pressures, responsibilities to others whether in-person or on-line.
Additional mental health support and those experiencing crisis. Bereavement, chronic illness, life changing diagnosis or disabilities.
Life can throw unexpected difficulties in our direction at any time and things can get tough. Which can make you feel stressed out, in chaos, overwhelmed, broken or like you are falling apart.
Picking Up The Pieces provides an initial consultation, free of charge and without obligation which lasts between 30-45 minutes. This is an opportunity to assess an individual's needs and to see whether the service I provide would be suitable to you. It also gives you the opportunity to see whether you connect to me as building a strong, therapeutic connection forms a major part in any therapeutic work embarked upon. Practice description
I work holistically looking at individuals past, present and future and work with many models and techniques to cater to individual's needs as, everyone's life experiences, hurdles or difficulties along with mental health issues are unique.
Sessions provided can be 50 minutes or 75 minutes long - cost reflective.
Therapy in the main is held weekly to enhance trust, therapeutic connection and momentum to the therapeutic process although working fortnightly along.
Single sessions/drop-ins can also be provided that concentrate on one problem, work on action plans to find immediate solutions that may benefit others.
My first session
It is important that you feel comfortable for your first session, remove distractions, ensure you are in a safe space where others cannot hear whilst respecting confidentiality in our work together and working relationship.
After our initial consultation which is free of charge without obligation, if you wish to embark with therapy with my service a questionnaire along with a working agreement will be sent and to be agreed upon prior to commencing therapeutic work together.
