About me and my therapy practice

Hello and Welcome. I offer counselling to Adults, Teens and Children. Counselling helps you to understand your thoughts and feelings, it can help you to make connections, and become more self aware, whilst giving you the confidence to express yourself better within your personal relationships. I often describe the counselling process like a dress rehearsal for real life. Whilst you have counselling, you will build your self awareness and start to develop a deeper understanding of yourself as a person, and learn to communicate better with those around you.

As your counsellor, I would like to help you to find your voice, by providing a space that’s confidential and safe, where you can explore what may be going on for you, or any challenges you may be struggling with.

You are the expert in your life, my job is to help you explore and unpack the things you want to change, to help you to find the answers that will bring comfort and peace into your life.

Having qualified in 2013 as a person centred counsellor, I have since undertaken various training in a range of topics. I love to work creatively with young people and adults. However, the way in which I would work is dependent on the needs of you as my client and what you feel comfortable with. Talking therapy can be a powerful process, really giving you the space and time to focus on what it is you need to work through.

My job is to hold the space for you, whilst you use the sessions as you wish, I am always led by my clients and will join them where they need to be at that moment. I will offer a non judgmental and confidential space, I may gently challenge where appropriate, to help the process. Counselling is about taking risks and these risks sometimes mean challenging yourself at times.

If you are finding things difficult at the moment, or have a child/teen that may be struggling please feel free to get in touch for a chat about how counselling can help.

Practice description

I offer sessions online via zoom and face to face from a therapy room based in Harrow, North West london. The sessions are weekly and are 50 minutes long. I offer short term or long term counselling, depending on the needs of you as a client, and we will continue to review our work together, to ensure you are getting what you need from counselling.

I have worked with a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, low self esteem, self harm, identity issues, anger management, bereavement, and relationship difficulties.

My practice is warm and welcoming, whether that’s in person or online, it is a complete private space, and free from any distractions.

My first session

Before a session is booked in, we would book in a 30 minute initial consultation session via zoom, this is an opportunity to meet and to see whether we can work together. An essential part of counselling is the relationship between counsellor and client, so this initial session would be based around how we would work together and essentially whether we are a ‘good fit.’

This consultation session is charged at £25.

Before this session, I would send out via email some paperwork, a copy of the counselling contract, an intake form and parental agreement (if working with a young person) this gives you an opportunity to have a look through the details surrounding confidentiality and other aspects of counselling, like boundaries, cancellations and so on.

Accessing counselling can feel daunting and anxiety provoking, but I would like to reassure you that the first step is always the most difficult. There isn’t a problem that’s too big or too small, if it’s affecting you and your life then talking about it can help you to move forward.

Feeling nervous about starting counselling is completely normal, whatever the reason for you needing to reach out, I am here to provide calm and warmth whilst we build a therapeutic relationship that helps you begin to move forward in your life.
