About me and my therapy practice
Relationship Psychotherapist & Supervisor
I am a BACP (Accred) relationship therapist and supervisor with over ten years’ experience working with individuals and couples across the UK. I offer sessions by Zoom and phone, welcoming adults of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. I am also registered with AXA Private Health Insurance, WPA, and PLE.
My aim is to provide a safe, supportive, and engaging space where you can talk openly about whatever is on your mind.
Thinking About Therapy?
You don’t need to be in crisis to find therapy helpful. You might just feel a bit unsure, unsettled, or in need of a confidential space to pause and make sense of things. And if you are facing something overwhelming, therapy can offer steady support as you talk through what’s going on.
I work with issues relating to:
- Family and relationships: exploring relationships, creating family and managing difficult life and family experiences.
- Building self-esteem: experiences of loneliness, self-doubt,, distrust and uncertainty.
- Anxiety, depression and low mood: including panic, phobias, ADHD, OCD, worry-loops and self-harm.
- Addictions, co-dependency: self-harming patterns of behaviour. I also work with 'Adult Children of Alcoholics/Addicts/Disfunctional Families'
- Career stress: managing work-life balance, stress at work, career issues, redundancy and change.
- Identity and roles: life and identity questions, divorce and separation, community, menopause/mid-life and sexuality.
Individual sessions: £70 for 50 minutes or £80 for 1 hr.
Couple Work
The couple sessions are designed to feel constructive and collaborative, helping you notice familiar patterns, communicate more openly, and reconnect with each other.
Some couples come because they feel a bit out of sync and want support finding their way back. Others are considering separation and need a calm, grounded space to think things through.
Couples sessions: £110 for 60 minutes and longer sessions of 1hr 20 at £140.
Practice description
My style is warm, attentive, and actively engaged. I provide a space to smooth the path for you to speak freely, recognise patterns, and feel understood. I will be actively in dialogue with you in an approachable and encouraging way, with the intention of enabling you to talk about whatever is on your mind.
We work together in the early sessions to determine what you want to focus on and how you would like therapy to benefit you.
My Theoretical Approach
I bring together a combination of different approaches - Transactional Analysis (TA) being my main theoretical model - and alongside the great TA ideas that we can explore together, we might also look at approaches that help you vocalise what's going on. Sometimes we don't know why we feel the way we feel until we unlock a few doors and a creative approach tapping into our subconscious might help us find a key. I hope you will find counselling both enjoyable and supportive. The work combines openness, collaboration, and human-ness to explore experiences and possibilities.
I have a special interest in relationship and couple therapy and undertake numerous courses every year to maintain latest practice, skills and depth of experience.
You can also find more about the way I work on my website.
My first session
Ahead of the first session I will send you a registration form and outline of how I work, called the contract/terms doc., This document outlines the nature of confidentiality, my fees & cancellation policy and information relating to my insurance and the BACP Ethical Framework.
Typically, we will have had a conversation by phone too to discuss your needs and any questions you may have.
During the first session we will discuss what you're looking to achieve and the background to your presenting issue. The first session is your opportunity to outline what's been happening for you and what you would like to achieve in therapy.
Having a first, exploratory session gives you an indicator of how therapy might benefit you.
