About me and my therapy practice

Taking the first step into therapy can feel daunting but I am here to offer you the space, understanding, compassion and focused support to make sense of whatever brings you here.

If you are ready for something to change but not sure exactly what or how to make the changes you need, let's try and figure that out together.

I bring a passionate belief in our human capacity for growth and our ability to use painful and critical moments as a catalyst to find more enriching and satisfying lives. Your story is unique and if it feels like the right fit for us both I will be happy to work alongside you to find the questions, insights and steps that are right for you to make the change you need.

My training as a Person-Centred Counsellor & Relational Dynamics Coach enables me to offer you a unique set of skills and experience, which can effectively bridge therapy, personal and professional development.

I also bring a wide range of experience which includes: working with professionals in the education, health, arts and creative industry sectors; working with families recovering from domestic abuse; and working with women and change which includes empty nest and the menopause.

Oh, and many years of life experience and all the learning that brings!

Practice description

I can offer you straight forward talking therapy; work creatively when words are not enough; integrate mindfulness and breath work to help regulate the nervous system if needed and integrate coaching techniques when you have identified your goal and need some help to move that forward.

I will provide a calm space where you can talk freely, without judgement, offering empathy, acceptance and a listening ear so you can feel truly heard and understood.

With the right therapeutic conditions and relationship in place it offers space and support to find your authentic voice, find your personal solutions, insights and life balance, developing your personal self-help toolkit for a better life. 

My first session

It’s important to find the therapist that feels right for you and provides a good fit. Sometimes that can be an instinctive response, simply a few words that really resonate, and sometimes it may take a few sessions for both of us to see how it goes.

To make that a little easier I am happy to offer an initial, free 15-minute phone call where we can talk in a little more depth about what brings you to therapy. This also offers you time to ask any key questions you might have.

Before we speak, I will also forward my counselling agreement so we can agree the practical terms and conditions of working together. We can then agree the date and time to get started.
