Therapist - Beverley

Beverley HU17
Sessions from £86.00

Features

  • Concessionary rates

Availability

I currently have availability Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 1pm - 7pm (UK).

I work online so you can access therapy from wherever you are most comfortable (without having to reschedule your whole day) as long as you have a reliable internet connection and a private space where you can speak freely.

I offer 60-minute and 90-minute online counselling sessions, usually weekly or fortnightly. We can talk about what frequency might work best for you when we first meet, and there is no requirement to commit to a set number of sessions.

60-minute session: €100 (approximately £86)

90-minute session: €150 (approximately £129)

I live in France and work with English-speaking clients online in the UK and Europe. My fees are charged in euros, but I've included the approximate cost in pounds above to make things a little easier if you're based in the UK.

Payment can be made via bank transfer or via a Stripe link.

About me and my therapy practice

We can work so hard to build a life that we thought we wanted, only to find out that it doesn't feel like we thought it would. When things look great on the outside, but don't match how we feel , we can end up putting all our energy into keeping up appearances as we drift further and further away from ourselves.

You might find yourself feeling numb, anxious or overwhelmed, overthinking everything, struggling to trust yourself or just feeling a bit worn down by it all. Sometimes we know something needs to change, but have no idea what that would even look like.

You don't need to be in a crisis to get some support. Sometimes things are just harder than you ever expected, and it's OK to give yourself some time and support to figure things out.

My Approach:

I'm a BACP Accredited therapist with over a decade of experience. The way I work is collaborative and rooted in the person-centred approach, integrating coaching skills, creativity and positive psychology. I trust you to know yourself best, and we'll work at your pace.

Practice description

When you start therapy, it can be really difficult to know where to begin. I won't rush you or tell you what to do. If I share my opinion or make a suggestion, it's just that, a suggestion.

In our sessions you can choose each week what you want to explore and talk about, or we can make a plan together and follow that structure. Sometimes I'll share my perspective, and sometimes I will give you space to think things through. Don't worry, I won't leave you in silence for half an hour.

If you'd prefer we can use creative arts to explore how you're feeling. You don't need to be 'good at art' for us to work this way together (I'm not either). Sometimes this can take the pressure off needing to talk (and be lots of fun). If you'd prefer to just talk things out though, that's great too.

I offer 60 and 90-minute online sessions, usually weekly or fortnightly. Some of my clients prefer to book a block of appointments, but there's no requirement to commit to a set number of sessions.

My first session

Starting something new can feel pretty nerve-wracking, especially if you've never had therapy before. Even if you have, I'm a new person and I get that contacting me and booking in can be daunting in itself, especially as there are so many unknowns.

The first step is to book a free initial call. This gives you the chance to ask any questions, tell me a bit more about what's bringing you to therapy and most importantly see how you feel talking with me. There is no pressure or obligation to book a session afterwards.

If we decide to work together, our first session gives us more time to get to know each other and begin exploring what's been happening for you and what you might want to be different. You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what you want to work on or even precisely where you want to end up. We can figure that out together.

Before our first session I will also send you a counselling agreement which outlines what we can expect from each other and the practical details of counselling including confidentiality and cancellations.

If you have any questions, please drop me a message on: hello@heatherdoolan.com

About me and my therapy practice

I offer 1:1 supervision online for counsellors, therapists, coaches and other wellbeing and mental health professionals.
