About me and my therapy practice
Sometimes life can look great from the outside, but just doesn't feel right inside. This can leave us feeling so guilty for wanting change and struggling with self-doubt. You're not alone. Together we can untangle what's not working and find a way forward that feels true to you.
Often, the people I work with appear successful and "fine" to the outside world, but feel a heavy mismatch on the inside. You may have built a life that looks exactly as it "should," yet you find yourself feeling stuck, disconnected, or quietly exhausted by the effort of keeping up appearances.
You don't need to be in crisis to deserve a space of your own. I work with thoughtful, self-aware individuals who are ready to stop performing and start listening to the "internal alarms" they’ve been silencing for years.
My Approach: Depth Over Speed
I don’t believe in quick fixes or "crushing" your doubts. Instead, my work is grounded in Post-Traumatic Growth—the understanding that our most difficult or "stuck" moments can become the bedrock for a more authentic way of living.
We don't launch into the deep end here. We approach the shore together, testing the water at a pace that feels safe for your nervous system. I offer a steady, collaborative environment where you can:
Unpack the "Shoulds": Understand the invisible barriers and expectations that have left you feeling lost.
Navigate the Wobbles: Acknowledge that change is wobbly and uncertain, and that’s okay.
Develop an Internal Compass: Shift from looking for external directions to trusting your own internal authority.
Practice description
How We Work Together:
I find that the most meaningful change happens within a consistent, predictable container. Because of this, I typically work in 12-session blocks. This framework provides the stability needed to move past "coping" and into genuine alignment.
12-Session Process: £960 (Payment can be spread over 3 or 6 months at no extra cost to help you budget with ease).
4-Session starting point: £340 (An initial month to see if my approach feels like the right "click" for you).
Single Consultation Session: £90 (For one-off clarity or ad-hoc support).
Starting therapy can take a lot of courage and it's ok to go gently. You are welcome to get in touch for a free initial conversation to see if we feel like a good fit. Together, we can find a way forward at your own pace.
My first session
Starting something new can feel pretty nerve wracking. But don't worry - I want to work with you the whole person. I will adapt our work to you and what you specifically need to move forward. I am not a fan of one size fits all. We will go at the pace that means you can move towards the life that you want.
The very fist step is to book a free initial call. This will give us a chance to chat through what you want to work on, and see if we would work well together. There is no pressure or obligation to commit. If that feels like too big a step to start with - drop me a message with any questions you have at: hello@heatherdoolan.com.
The first time we meet (online) can be used to get to know each other a little better and to find out if we are both comfortable working together. You can also use this time to ask those questions you might have about the process or about your specific situation.
I like to learn a bit about you and what led you to contacting me and what you want to be different. This is so that I can start to get an understanding of what you hope to gain from the sessions.
If we decide to work together, I will send you a link which allows you to book and pay for your sessions, a counselling agreement which outlines what we can expect from each other and the practical details of counselling including confidentiality and cancellations. I will also send you a form with some questions that can help use to get a head start on things.
If you have any questions, please drop me a message on: hello@heatherdoolan.com

About me and my therapy practice
You don’t need to be in crisis to deserve a space of your own. Many of the people I work with are very capable and appear ‘fine’ to the world, but feel a heavy mismatch on the inside. You may have built a life that looks good on paper, yet feel stuck, struggling with self-doubt, disconnected, or guilty for wanting something more.
I offer a steady, non-judgmental space to slow down and move past the ‘shoulds.’ Together, we will work at your pace to detangle these feelings and build a way forward that feels honest and aligned with who you are. My approach is grounded in Post-Traumatic Growth — helping you find your footing and trust your own internal compass again.
Working together, you may:
- Understand yourself more clearly and reconnect with self compassion,
- Build confidence in making your own decisions,
- Move forward in a way that feels authentic and meaningful,
- Week by week, step by step, you will deepen your self-trust and develop your own ‘connection compass’ to guide you.

I offer an initial 12 session programme for £960.
I don't believe in charging you more for budgeting, so if you need to split the payment over 3 or 6 months, you can do so at no extra cost.
Please note, that this is a still a financial commitment - with the cost spread out over the 3 or 6 months.
If you are interested in one off or ad hoc sessions without a commitment, I completely understand and you can book these for £90 each.
