About me and my therapy practice

With 20 years’ experience working as a therapist, Counselling and Psychotherapy has become both my career and my passion. I am fully qualified, holding full BACP Accreditation alongside a Diploma and Master’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. It is a privilege to work with people taking what can be the bravest of decisions to come to therapy.

There is a vast array of noise out there and many questions arise, from what type of therapy to what type of therapist. It can all be very overwhelming and confusing. I hope that I can help you in finding a sense of relief and calm amongst these uncertainties, in offering you a safe, experienced and professional space, where we can explore, understand and work with whatever is troubling you in confidence.

I have experience working in schools and colleges with young people and young adults. Helping support those experiencing stresses around exams, friendship/peer difficulties, self-esteem and body image issues. This leads into my work with eating disorders and disordered eating.

I am there to support you in finding clarity and understanding, so that you may find ways to lead life more on your terms.

Please contact me if you would like to know more about how we might work together to meet your hopes and goals.

Practice description

My practice deploys the Integrative, which means I’m qualified to work with and draw upon major therapeutic disciplines, including Person Centred, CBT, Psychodynamic and Solution Focused Therapy.  Over more recent years I have touched on elements of neuroscience, with an emphasis on the mind and body connection, which particularly relates to my work with anxiety, emotional dysregulation and trauma as both your internal and external world come into the therapy room.

This way of working reflects my experience that people need different types of help and support at various stages of their lives. Over the years, I have observed clients responding well to this way of working, most notably by moving forward in the direction that is right for them and finding a new-found curiosity in themselves and their life.

I have experience working both short term and long term and am happy to explore what will work most favourably for you.

My first session

I am happy to offer a free introductory 20 minute phone call. The next step would be to undertake an initial assessment session before fully committing to weekly therapy sessions.

The initial assessment session gives you the chance to tell me more about yourself and the things you want to work on in therapy, as well as ask me any questions you may have. We will take a look at your history and talk about any previous experience of therapy and your thoughts around this. Collaboratively we would map out a route to how sessions will look with the opportunity to review at any time. It's also an opportunity for us to see how you feel in the therapy space.

After the assessment session if you are happy to commence we will book in a convenient day and time to proceed with weekly sessions.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist, BACP Accredited and Integrative trained Clinical Supervisor for individuals and groups. Being Integratively trained aids me in my work with clients but also with supervisee's from different theoretical learnings and modalities.
