About me and my therapy practice
Harris Papachristopoulos – The Life Academy Psychotherapy, Counselling and Neurofeedback
Practising in London, Edinburgh & Online
I am a psychotherapist, psychologist, neurofeedback therapist and philosophical coach offering my services in Edinburgh, London, and online. I work with individuals and couples who are navigating emotional pain, relationship difficulties, trauma, and life transitions—and also with those who are seeking greater meaning, purpose, and inner growth.
My approach is gentle, relational, and deeply respectful of each person’s unique story. I offer a warm, grounded, and spacious therapeutic relationship where you can feel safe to explore whatever is present for you—whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, lost, or simply longing to live more fully and authentically.
The foundation of my work is rooted in person-centred and relational psychotherapy. I believe that healing happens in relationship—through empathy, attunement, and trust—and that the therapeutic space can be a sanctuary for connection, insight, and transformation.
Alongside this foundation, I draw on a wide range of holistic and integrative approaches to support your emotional, psychological, and spiritual wellbeing. These include:
Jungian Analytical Psychotherapy – working with dreams, symbolism, the unconscious, and the deeper layers of the psyche
Internal Family Systems (IFS) – helping you explore and heal inner parts with compassion
Somatic Trauma Therapy – listening to the body and its wisdom
EMDR Therapy – for gently processing traumatic memories
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) – especially in couples work
Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT)
Mindfulness-based and contemplative approaches
Cognitive, behavioural, and compassion-focused therapies where helpful
Above all, I tailor my approach to each person. Therapy with me is not formulaic—it is a living, evolving relationship, shaped together in a way that honours who you are and where you are in your journey
Practice description
I have a particular specialisation in working with complex developmental trauma, attachment issues, PTSD, and what is often described as “personality disorders”—though I prefer the term personality adaptations, which recognises these patterns as meaningful responses to early relational wounds and unmet needs.
Above all, I tailor my approach to each person. Therapy with me is not formulaic—it is a living, evolving relationship, shaped together in a way that honours who you are and where you are in your journey.

I also work with those who may not be in crisis, but are seeking a deeper connection to themselves and their lives—exploring themes of creativity, purpose, vocation, spirituality, and the longing to live more consciously and wholeheartedly.

About me and my therapy practice
It is a genuine privilege to support fellow practitioners in the work they do. I offer clinical supervision online to psychotherapists, counsellors, psychologists and neurofeedback practitioners across Scotland and the rest of the UK, from trainees to experienced clinicians, one-to-one and in groups. My practice is based in Edinburgh and London.
Everything begins with the supervisory relationship. Before theory or technique, I want you to feel safe enough to bring what you are unsure of: the case you cannot quite formulate, or the question you feel you ought to know the answer to by now. Honest reflection depends on that safety, and I hold it with care.
I supervise through a Holistic Supervision Model I developed during my postgraduate training in clinical supervision. It attends to your clinical work and to the person doing it, including the ethical questions you carry and what the work stirs in your body and your life. I move between teaching, reflecting and consulting as each session asks. When you are newly qualified, the structure is closer and more supportive; as you grow, it becomes a collegial partnership that strengthens your own internal supervisor.
I am at home with person-centred and relational work, Jungian psychodynamic therapy, Internal Family Systems, attachment-informed EMDR, somatic trauma approaches, CBT, ACT and DBT. I have particular experience supervising work with complex trauma, dissociation, personality adaptations and neurodivergence, and I offer specialist neurofeedback supervision, which is still hard to find in the UK.
Many of the therapists I supervise work alone and online, without a team to think with. I know how isolating that can be. I also know burnout from the inside, from earlier in my own career, so your wellbeing sits beside your caseload in every session.
If you are looking for supervision that takes the whole of your practice seriously, I would be glad to hear from you.
