About me and my therapy practice
Feelings such as anxiety, depression, stress, anger and loss can be a normal response to life, but are difficult to manage on our own. Change and uncertainty may heighten these feelings and make life very challenging. You may be concerned about your relationships with partner, friends and family, or perhaps you’re struggling with feelings of loneliness and isolation.
I offer a place to voice your thoughts and feelings, and in time come to a fuller understanding of yourself and what makes you uniquely you.
Talking and feeling heard can help you make sense of difficult issues, whether from the past or the present.
Practice description
I offer both short-term, and long-term work in person. We can discuss the planned duration of our work together in the first few sessions.
Good counselling should feel safe and enable you to talk openly about the issues you face. This includes us thinking together about how we are working. We will hold regular reviews to ensure the counselling is helpful and appropriate, where I encourage and facilitate you to give honest feedback.
Counselling and therapy is a process with a beginning, a middle and an end. Usually our work ends at a mutually agreed time, giving enough time and consideration to the ending.
My first session
I offer an initial meeting via Zoom during which you can tell me more about what brings you to therapy now, and what you are most hoping to work on.
I will explain more about how I work, and how therapy works. This is an opportunity for us to see if we’d like to work together. The meeting takes about 15-25 minutes and is free of charge.
Following this, your first and subsequent sessions will last for 50 minutes. It is your space to use as you wish to explore your issues. I do not direct or give advice as I believe it’s important to hear your voice. However, I will help you understand how you can use therapy, and how to get the best from your sessions.

I am interested in your childhood as I believe what we learn and experience from birth, and how we formed relationships, impacts us as adults.
Practice description
I currently work both online and in person, offering sessions via Zoom, WhatsApp and FaceTime. I also offer phone counselling if this is preferred.
I offer in person sessions on Saturday mornings in Borough.
I offer an initial phone or Zoom consultation of 10-20 minutes which is free. This helps us decide if we are a good fit to work together.
My first session
Your first session will last for 50 minutes, as will following sessions. It's an opportunity to tell me more about yourself and what brings you to counselling now. Many people worry that they won't be able to fill a session by talking about themselves - it can feel unusual or difficult to do this. I will facilitate the process, helping you to reflect on a point or a feeling, encouraging you to express and explore your feelings. It's a bit like going on a journey, with an ally by your side.
During the first session we will think together about what you hope to get from therapy. There is no obligation to continue after the first session, but if we both feel that we can work together I usually suggest we have 4-6 sessions and then review how the counselling is going.
What I can help with
Abuse, Anger management, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Child related issues, Cultural issues, Depression, Disability, Health related issues, Identity issues, Infertility, Loss, Menopause, Personal development, Post-traumatic stress, Pregnancy related issues, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Spirituality, Stress, Women's issues, Work related issues

Brief therapy, Creative therapy, Humanistic, Integrative, Person centred, Psychodynamic, Relational
Clients I work with
Adults, Older adults, Trainees
How I deliver therapy

About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified counsellor, registered and accredited with BACP. I have 19 years experience of counselling adults and young people in education, the voluntary sector and in private practice.
I’ve been supervising counsellors and therapists for the past 10 years and hold a Diploma in Clinical Supervision.
Practice description
Counselling and therapy is demanding work, and in supervision I will aim to offer you support, address your development, and help you to comply with professional standards.
Supervision, like therapy is a collaborative relationship in which you, the therapist, can feel safe enough to explore mistakes, oversights and confusion, keeping in mind the welfare of the client.
My first session
I offer an initial online meeting of about 20-3 minutes which is free of charge. We will consider your previous experience of supervision or learning, and explore how this fits with what you want or don’t want from supervision with me.
We’ll discuss your theoretical orientation and how that determines your supervisory needs, as well as thinking about how you want to develop as a practitioner and your long-term goals.
