About me and my therapy practice

Perhaps you feel anxious, overwhelmed or exhausted. Things may look fine on the outside, but inside you’re close to burnout. Or perhaps you’ve reached midlife and find yourself asking what really matters now. Your relationships may be struggling, or you keep repeating patterns you’d like to change. You might spend so much time looking after others that you’ve lost sight of your own needs, or you often say yes when you’re longing to say no. You don’t need to be in crisis to come to therapy.

I'll work with you in a flexible, creative way. Together, we’ll become curious about the parts of you that can take over and run the show: the people pleaser, the high achiever, the inner critic who always has something to say. I call this compassionate curiosity.

These parts often develop for a reason. They may have helped you cope, fit in or feel safe, but over time they can leave you feeling stuck or disconnected from what you really want. Therapy can help you untangle things, one thread at a time, so you start listening to your own needs and find new ways forward. It isn't always easy, but it can be empowering and liberating.

My core training is in Psychosynthesis, which looks at the whole person, including questions of meaning and purpose. I also draw on attachment theory, trauma-informed practice and CBT. My style combines warmth with gentle challenge, always at a pace that suits you.

Practice description

Much of my work is with adults facing anxiety, stress, depression and the effects of trauma. Many come to me during a time of change, such as pressure at work, a loss, or the ending of a relationship.

Therapy with me is shaped by you and what you need. Some people want a short, focused piece of work on a specific issue. Others prefer longer-term, open-ended work.  We can decide together and this can change as we go.

Sessions last 50 minutes. We’ll regularly review how things are going so you always have a say in the direction of our work.

Everything you share is confidential, within the limits we’ll agree at the start. I have regular supervision and continue to train and develop my practice.

I’m a registered BUPA provider: if you have BUPA health insurance, you may be able to claim for sessions. Please check your policy first.

My experience spans private practice, education and the charity sector, including work with Mind, Place2Be and ChildLine. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and have experience working with people from many different cultures and communities.

I also work with young people aged 12 and over. I currently work at a counselling service for children and young adults in Tower Hamlets. I hold an enhanced DBS certificate and complete NSPCC safeguarding training each year.

If this resonates, I’d love to hear from you.

My first session

Before we book a first session, I offer a free 20-minute phone or video call. You can tell me a little about what’s bringing you to therapy and ask any questions. It’s a chance to see whether we’re a good fit and there’s no obligation to go ahead.

Our first session is an assessment, a chance to explore what’s happening for you and what you hope might change. If we both feel happy to continue, we’ll arrange weekly sessions at a regular day and time. I usually suggest starting with six sessions. After that, we can agree a set number of sessions or work in a more open-ended way.

The first session costs the same as all other sessions: £80 for 50 minutes face-to-face or £65 online.

If you’re contacting me about a young person, I’m happy to speak with you first. We can talk about how sessions will work, including confidentiality and how parents or carers are involved.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step. Many people feel nervous before their first session and that’s completely normal. I’ve helped many people through those first sessions, and I’ll do my best to help you feel at ease.
