About me and my therapy practice
Welcome to Melina Therapy, I’m Melina, an international therapist with over 30 years' experience supporting clients emotionally- helping them to heal and reconnect with themselves, their relationships and their sense of wellbeing. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, grief, fear, low-mood or trauma, my practice is grounded in listening, understanding and presence.
You may be feeling overwhelmed, emotionally worn down, or stuck in survival mode - especially if you have been under pressure or adapting to constant change for a long time.
Life can look like you are fully functioning on the outside, while inside things feel heavy, frightening or fragile. You don’t have to go through this alone - taking this step to reach out can be the beginning of feeling more supported, steadier and lighter.
I work online with clients here in the UK and around the world and also run trauma recovery yoga classes in the community. My approach is trauma-informed and integrative, supporting emotional healing and a gradual reconnection of mind and body. The work unfolds at a pace that prioritises safety, trust and what feels possible.
I am a specialist trauma counsellor -with expertise in sexual abuse, sexual violence and childhood trauma, as well as those navigating challenges with addictions and relationships. My approach is trauma-informed and integrative - because each person processes trauma differently, I offer carefully tailored support, to create a space for you that is safe, attentive and respectful of your journey.
For couples and intimate partners, I offer Emotionally Focused Therapy to improve communication, strengthen bonds, rebuild trust and navigate emotional challenges including experiences of loss and betrayal.
My approach is integrative and drawn from a unique blend of evidence based therapies, grounded in neuroscience, with coaching, mindfulness and holistic practices to create effective individualised psychological care.
Practice description
I'm British-Italian, based in the UK, and I work with clients here and online internationally - with expats, remote professionals, clients who have moved or are from diverse cultural backgrounds. My own lived experiences of transition and displacement inform my work and deepens my passion for supporting others. I respect each person's unique story and I am drawn to working with those who have moved country, feel isolated, displaced, or targeted in some way. Or if you are struggling with identity, a sense of belonging, or navigating a difficult life transition, I'm here to support you.
At some point in our lives, we all need a bit of additional support - talking with a professional, who is trained and impartial can really help.
Therapy can be a way to reconnect with yourself, regain balance and discover your own inner strength. We may explore aspects of your past, not to assign blame, but to reshape the narrative of your story and yourself - so you can move forward with greater empowerment.
My integrative approach allows me to tailor care to each person's unique needs, supporting emotional growth, healing and overall wellbeing. Alongside talk therapy, I integrate wellness coaching and mind-body practices such as breathwork, meditation and trauma-recovery yoga.
These approaches can complement the emotional and relational work we do together, helping you develop practical skills, healthy habits and balance in your daily life.

Beautifully complimenting the therapeutic work I have been doing for decades. And I would love to share these methods with you.
Practice description
At any time in our lives, we can face personal challenges or struggle from unresolved issues from our past. Talking to someone who is professionally trained and impartial can really help. I understand that therapy can seem daunting, however, starting the process is to open-up and begin to heal.
By definition, I would describe counselling as the process of healing, to make or become sound again. In therapy sessions we may look at our past, the aim is not to self-blame, rather explore with compassion, so we can understand, change our narrative and our sense of ourselves and our story. And within this safe space where we can be vulnerable, curious, explorative and celebrative. Melina therapy is providing all of these and anything in-between.
We can explore mindful practices to discover presence, peace and calm within. And explore ways to support and enhance your daily routines and wellness - so you can feel happier, healthier and more content. Whilst manifesting and setting goals that align with your values and future aspirations.
My focus is to provide the most effective therapy for you and to be adaptive to each individual, not prescriptive to follow methodology, because it has worked with others.
What you can expect is a warm, compassionate therapy space, where you can be open and honest and listened to and heard. Where you can learn simple tools and interventions to take-away and sustain independently.

My practice is trauma-informed and because it is important that you feel safe presenting clients and supported within the supervisory relationship.
I also integrate wellness coaching, supporting supervisees to explore professional resilience, self-care and balance alongside clinical reflection.
I'm British-Italian, based in the UK, and I work online remotely with supervisees here in the UK and worldwide. I am passionate about engaging with clients and supervisees from diverse cultures and backgrounds, supporting expats, remote professionals and nomadic workers. Bringing a culturally sensitive approach to supervision, respecting each individual's unique journey and identity. My own experiences of transition and displacement have deeply informed my practice, empathy and understanding. As I am drawn to those who have been displaced, marginalised, or targeted in some way.
My experience spans clinical practice, trauma-informed therapy, supervision, community and international work, giving me a broad perspective across mental health and professional development. With experience working with children, young people, adults, couples, groups and family dynamics.
Practice description
Clinical supervision supports practitioners in both their practice and their wellbeing. It gives you a safe space to reflect on your work, including the impact of secondary or vicarious trauma. It also helps ensure your practice stays professional, ethical and aligned with recognised frameworks, while safeguarding clients and promoting good practice.
I see supervision as a safe space for reflection, decompression and self-care, where you can explore client cases, raise concerns and celebrate successes. I believe that warmth, openness and authenticity are the foundation of trust in our supervisory relationship and that consistency strengthens both the bond and the depth of the work.
My clinical supervision approach is integrative, trauma-informed and tailored to each supervisee. I combine reflective practice with evidence-based approaches and elements of coaching to support professional growth, resilience and wellbeing. Supervision unfolds at a pace that prioritises safety, trust and what feels possible for you. I aim to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment where you can deepen your practice, manage the impact of secondary trauma and strengthen both your confidence and professional skills.
I have specialised training in trauma recovery yoga and self-regulation for resilience. I trained with a visionary organisation who deliver classes in Afghanistan, in refugee camps and war-torn communities. I use mind-body methods such as breathwork and meditation with gentle trauma-informed movements to support the nervous system and emotional regulation.

The initial session gives an opportunity to meet and see if we are the right fit for each other. To gain an understanding of your practice and what you want from supervision. So I can tailor the supervision to your needs.

Practice description
Clinical supervision is for counsellors, psychotherapists and wellness professionals to support their work and help to reduce the impact on their own mental health. Often described as secondary or vicarious trauma, anyone who engages empathically with clients and is witness to material relating to their trauma can be affected. In adherence to the BACP Ethical Framework - supervision is there to support and enhance practice and protect clients from poor practice.
I would describe my service as your safe space to decompress, explore cases and be reflective in your practice. Where you can raise concerns and celebrate the joy of client work. Also, hold space for your self-care and wellbeing.
I believe that warmth, openness and authenticity are key to building trust and empathy within the supervisory relationship. Regarding supervision as collaborative support and guidance, so you can continue to grow and feel valued as a practitioner. While the consistency of supervision is essential to affirming the supervisory bond and depth of the work.
