About me and my therapy practice

Welcome to Melina Therapy, I offer calm, grounded therapy for when you are feeling overwhelmed, under pressure, or carrying more than feels easy to hold.

A safe space to pause, reflect and come back to yourself. Where we work at your pace, gently exploring what feels present and what may be sitting beneath it.

When you need your voice to be heard and listened to, therapy can help make sense of what's been building up internally and begin to bring more clarity, steadiness and deeper insight.

I have over 30 years' clinical experience supporting clients emotionally- helping them to heal and reconnect with themselves, their relationships and their sense of wellbeing.

You may be experiencing anxiety, grief, low moods, stress or more complex trauma. Sometimes there is a clear reason for how you are feeling and sometimes it can be harder to put into words. At Melina Therapy I offer space for both.

I am an integrative counsellor and my approach is relational and integrative, meaning I draw from different therapeutic perspectives depending on your needs. A unique blend of traditional evidence-based therapies, grounded in neuroscience, with coaching, mindfulness and mind-body healing.

I work with a wide range of mental health issues with expertise in addictions, sexual abuse, sexual violence, stress, relationship problems, trauma and PTSD. With specialism in breathwork and self-regulation.

My practice is fully trauma-informed so you can feel safe within the therapeutic space and relationship.

For couples and intimate partners, experiencing difficulties, I offer emotionally focused therapy - to improve communication, trust and navigate challenges including conflict, intimacy and betrayal.

For clients who want to prioritise their direction and wellbeing, I offer personalised life and wellness coaching. Through bespoke support and guidance, I help clarify goals, make sustainable lifestyle changes and create greater alignment with your values, aspirations and overall sense of purpose.

About me and my therapy practice

Welcome to Melina Therapy. I offer reflective, supportive and insight-oriented clinical supervision for therapists, coaches and helping professionals seeking a thoughtful space to grow and professionally enrich their practice. My integrative approach draws on 30 years of therapeutic experience, combining traditional psychotherapeutic models with trauma-informed practice rooted in neuroscience, alongside coaching, mindfulness and mind-body approaches. I provide a collaborative space where practitioners can deepen their clinical thinking, gain fresh perspectives, strengthen their professional development and reflect on their work with curiosity, insight and a commitment to ethical practice.

My clinical work spans a broad range of presenting issues, from anxiety, depression, grief and relationship difficulties to more complex experiences of childhood trauma, PTSD, attachment wounds and adverse life events. Alongside my general therapeutic practice, I have developed specialist knowledge in trauma and addiction, including work with survivors of sexual abuse, sexual violence and other forms of interpersonal trauma.

My experience also includes working with children, young people, adults, couples and groups in a variety of therapeutic contexts. This breadth of experience enables me to support practitioners with both common mental health concerns and more complex client presentations.

I am particularly interested in the impact of trauma on the nervous system and the ways in which neuroscience, mindfulness, breathwork and mind-body approaches can complement traditional therapeutic practice. In supervision, I encourage thoughtful exploration of both the therapeutic process and the practitioner's own responses, supporting clinical effectiveness, ethical practice and professional wellbeing.

Practice description

I offer online clinical supervision to practitioners in Nottingham, throughout the UK and internationally. Working online provides a consistent and accessible reflective space, fitting around the demands of busy practices and everyday life, regardless of your location.

I am an English-Italian therapist and bring a culturally sensitive and relationally attuned perspective to my work. My clinical experience has often drawn me to supporting individuals and communities who have experienced marginalisation, displacement or significant life adversity. I value creating a supervisory space where different perspectives and lived experiences can be explored with openness, curiosity and respect.

In supervision, opportunities are provided to explore the impact of clinical work, including vicarious and secondary trauma, alongside support in working with ethical boundaries, scope of practice and professional competence. This enables the exploration of complex clinical material, deeper clinical thinking, consideration of client safety and risk and support for practitioner wellbeing.

I believe that warmth, openness and authenticity are the foundations of trust in a supervisory relationship and that consistency strengthens both the bond and the depth of the work. Alongside this, I also value supportive challenge where appropriate, helping practitioners to think more critically, deepen reflection and sustain ethical and effective practice. If you would like to explore working together, you are welcome to get in touch to arrange an initial consultation.
