I am an Integrative counsellor which means that I use different models of therapy to best suit your specific needs. Listening can be very different from truly feeling heard from knowing that someone genuinely “gets you”. I offer a non-judgemental and compassionate approach, providing a safe space for you to explore and work through your concerns at you own pace.

I have worked over 30 years as a counsellor within the NHS, Further education and private practice.

I have carried out extensive research into The Transition into Motherhood, leading me to recognise the immensity and complexity of emotions that can arise.

Areas I specialise in:

Anxiety

Depression

Low self-esteem and self-worth

Highly Sensitive People (HSP)

Relationship difficulties (partners, family, siblings, friends)

Issues rooted in childhood experiences

Workplace issues

Bullying

Support in navigating ADHD

Whether to have a baby

Infertility

Miscarriage

Pregnancy

Postnatal depression

Early parenthood

Pregnancy and the Transition into Motherhood

I have carried out extensive research into pregnancy and the transition into motherhood. This work led me to recognise the immensity and complexity of emotions that can arise during these periods. An experience that is often overlooked, as many mothers find it difficult to speak openly about how they are really feeling.

For many, this is one of the biggest transition in life. Expectations to feel constantly happy or grateful can make it even harder to share feeling of fear, anxiety or emotional conflict.

As one client shared during her pregnancy:

“I really want to be happy but I am so scared, I am finding it difficult. My family are asking why I am not ‘over the moon’? I am. It’s all I have ever wanted to be a mum, but the nagging side of my brain won’t allow me to be.”

I offer a space where you can talk openly about your emotions around pregnancy, motherhood and identity
