About me and my therapy practice
I offer a calm, down-to-earth space where you can talk openly about what’s going on for you, without feeling judged or rushed.
Sometimes people come to therapy with something very clear—like anger, anxiety, or relationship struggles. Other times, it’s more of a general feeling that something isn’t right, or that they feel stuck in patterns they don’t fully understand. Whatever brings you, we can take the time to explore it together.
We’ll look at what’s happening in your life now, while also gently exploring what might sit underneath it—especially the experiences and relationships that may have shaped how you think, feel, and respond today. The aim isn’t quick fixes, but helping you understand yourself more clearly so that real, lasting change can happen.
I won’t tell you what to do, but I will work alongside you with honesty, curiosity, and respect. Therapy works best when you feel safe enough to be real, and that’s something I prioritise.
Sessions are 50 minutes, usually weekly to begin with. I currently work face to face and online.
Practice description
Hello, I’m Liam. I’m a qualified and accredited counsellor offering one-to-one therapy for adults.
I provide a space where you can feel heard, understood, and able to talk about things you might not feel able to share elsewhere. My approach is warm, thoughtful, and collaborative—we work together to make sense of what’s going on for you.
Many of the people I work with are dealing with things like anxiety, anger, low self-esteem, addiction, trauma or difficulties in relationships. Often, these struggles aren’t just about what’s happening now, but are connected to deeper patterns that have built up over time. Therapy can help you begin to understand those patterns, rather than feeling stuck in them.
You might come to therapy during a difficult time, a life transition, or simply because you want to understand yourself better. Whatever your reason, I aim to offer a steady, supportive space where you can start to feel more clarity and direction.
I have over a decade of experience working in mental health, including private practice, EAP work, and voluntary services.
If you’re thinking about starting therapy, I offer a FREE initial session so you can see if it feels like the right fit.
My first session
The first session is a chance for us to meet and get a sense of whether working together feels right.
You don’t need to prepare anything—just come as you are. We’ll talk about what’s brought you to therapy, and I’ll ask a few questions to understand your situation a bit better. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask me anything and get a feel for how I work.
It’s a relaxed, no-pressure conversation. There’s no expectation to continue if it doesn’t feel like the right fit.
I offer this first session free of charge! It lasts between 30–50 minutes and takes place online using a secure platform. If we decide to go ahead, we’ll agree a regular weekly time for ongoing sessions.
If you’d like to arrange a first session, feel free to get in touch.
