Availability

I currently have limited availability for new clients and offer online sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

I work exclusively online via Zoom, creating a calm and confidential space where you can settle in from home. I keep the whole process simple and clear so you always know what to expect.

If you're considering working with me, I offer a free 30 minute consultation. This is a gentle, no-pressure conversation where we can talk through what’s been happening for you and explore whether my approach feels like a good fit. You don’t need to prepare anything, just come as you are.

My work is well suited to people who want a steady, ongoing therapeutic relationship. This is not a quick fix, but a space to understand themselves more deeply and create meaningful change at their own pace.

If you've had therapy before and felt it didn’t quite get to the root of things, I offer something different: a grounded, somatic approach that works with your whole system, not just your thinking mind.

All upcoming breaks or holiday times will be shared in advance with ongoing clients.

About me and my therapy practice

If you are looking for therapy that feels grounding, real and genuinely supportive of who you are, you are in the right place.

I work with adults who feel overwhelmed, burnt out, stuck in old patterns or disconnected from themselves. Many people come to me after trying therapy before and sensing that something important was missing. My approach helps you slow down, turn inward and build a steadier and kinder relationship with your inner world.

My work brings together somatic therapy, polyvagal awareness, parts work and a person centred foundation. We notice what is happening in your body and your nervous system. We explore the parts of you that work hard to protect you and the parts that need compassion, understanding or space.

This work is not about fixing you or forcing change. It is about helping you feel safe enough to understand yourself, soften what has been held for a long time and move forward with more clarity and choice.

Clients often describe our work as calming, clear and deeply supportive. They feel met rather than judged and understood rather than analysed. Over time this creates meaningful internal change. People begin to feel clearer in themselves, more trusting of their own needs and more anchored in who they are.

If this way of working feels right for you, you are welcome to reach out.

Practice description

In my practice you can show up exactly as you are. There is no need for a mask or pretence. You do not have to be sorted or clear. We start with what feels safe and manageable for you.

I work with people who want to understand themselves more deeply and create real change in their lives. Many clients come to me after trying therapy before and feeling that something important was missed. My approach helps you make sense of your inner world in a slower and more grounded way.

I use an integrative and body aware style. This means I draw from relational work, somatic therapy, trauma informed practice and a strong person centred foundation. We notice what is happening in your body, your emotions and the parts of you that try to protect you. This helps you understand yourself in a fuller and kinder way.

We stay in the present moment and work with what is here for you now. I offer a steady and honest presence. I will not rush you or push you into places you are not ready to go. As trust builds, the work naturally becomes deeper and more spacious.

You can expect clear boundaries, calm guidance and support as you explore what has been keeping you stuck. Clients often describe our work as grounding and clarifying. They feel understood rather than analysed and safe enough to explore what really matters.

All sessions are held online through Zoom. This allows you to attend from a space that feels comfortable and private. The relationship we build together is central to the process, and I am committed to offering an open and trustworthy space.

What you can expect from working with me:

• A calm and grounded space

• Clear boundaries and a steady pace

• Gentle support as you explore your inner world

• Practical tools when needed

• A compassionate and honest presence

If this way of working feels right for you, you are welcome to get in touch.

My first session

Your first session is a gentle space for us to meet and see how it feels to work together. There is no pressure to share everything at once. We begin slowly and focus on what feels safe and manageable for you.

Before we start ongoing work, I offer a free consultation. This is a brief and informal chat where you can ask questions and get a sense of my approach. It also gives me a chance to understand what has brought you here and what you are hoping for.

You will find my counselling agreement on my website at www.helentravis.com/terms-and-conditions

You can read it in your own time. In our first session you are welcome to ask about anything that feels unclear or important. After that we can begin the therapeutic work.

During the session I may ask a few simple questions to understand your current situation and what feels most present for you. There is no formal assessment. We stay with what is happening now and work within your capacity. You set the pace. I will never ask you to go somewhere you are not ready to go.

What you can expect from me is a calm and steady presence. I listen closely and ask thoughtful questions that help you reflect on yourself with more clarity. I will also be clear about boundaries and the structure of our work so you always know what to expect.

There is no pressure to commit to long term therapy. After each session you can decide if you want to continue. I want you to feel safe, comfortable and confident in the choice you make.

If you have questions before or after your first session, you are always welcome to bring them.
