About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP accredited counsellor and my qualifications include a bachelors degree in psychology, a post graduate diploma in counselling and psychotherapy, a masters in integrative counselling and a certificate in couples counselling. I am currently studying for my professional doctorate in counselling and psychotherapy studies.
My professional experience includes supporting people of all ages in a variety of settings and organisations. This includes the NHS, private and voluntary sectors, mainstream and special schools and universities. Alongside my private practice, I currently work at a university, where I support neurodivergent students and those experiencing mental health issues.
Practice description
I am passionate about helping individuals grow, develop and become their true selves. I assist people in finding their inner voice and strength, so that they can achieve their goals, which will be unique for each person. My experience includes working with an extensive variety of presenting issues. Whereas some clients are looking for change and transformation, others might be striving for inner peace and self-acceptance.
I deeply respect the individuality of each client and, through many years of experience, I have mastered the ability to tailor my approach to help each client achieve their goals. I foster a therapeutic environment where clients can feel comfortable and develop trust in the counselling process.
I offer both long and short term counselling. I facilitate a safe space for exploration for those clients looking for direction, purpose and meaning in their lives. I also offer a combination of counselling and coaching for those clients who want to make decisions, achieve change, and practice new ways of being.
My first session
The first session offers an opportunity for us to assess whether we are a good match and decide on having more sessions together or not.
This is an important mutual assessment that needs to happen from both the client's and counsellor's perspectives.
Once, we start to work together, we will be reviewing the counselling process every 6 weeks to ensure that you are receiving the service that you need.
